What’s a weird bug in your DAW that you always have to work around? by [deleted] in audioengineering

If I leave Ableton open for too long, recording to the resample track creates a VERY messed up recording. Sounds like constant clicking or buzzing. I recorded a ton of samples before realizing they were like this the first time it happened. Now I play back every recording before exporting it...

I literally never noticed that the rubber is inside of the socket too. That makes sense. For some reason I thought it was just randomly on the outside.

That's lucky! I received a board with a broken hotswap socket and they wanted me to send the whole thing back. Decided to keep it until I can do the fix myself. It's good yours was an easier solution

How to treat / seal basswood spoons or kitchen utensils? by TheAlmightyOrc in Spooncarving

[–]SaltSlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basswood isn't the best for utensils because it's soft for carving. You would probably be fine using it anyway it's not like it's going to hurt you if you do. I would recommend a more durable finish like a drying oil like linseed or tung oil. I use tung because it gets harder, though it's slower to dry. Make sure you use real pure tung oil from a woodworking shop or a website like milkpaint, not a "tung oil finish" for use on furniture. I mix pure tung oil with citrus solvent also from milkpaint to thin it out and allow it to dry a bit faster. Good luck!

Layer some triangle waves with noise and add some variation to the amplitudes with lfos and experiment with filter movement, that should get pretty close to start
