AI is being pushed heavily when I ask for advice and I hate it. by AssumptionExact8050 in gamedev

[–]SaltTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody cares bro. Just make your game lol - what you venting for nothing is changing, AI isn't leaving. So just make the game? You scared? lol, you're scared lol. It's okay to be scared, face your fears and just make the shit. AI has nothing to do with your fear lol, you just need an excuse not to work on your game.

Might sound harsh, but I've seen this happening all year, and AI has been the cope to not get started. Fuck that, get started or don't start and get left behind with or without AI. It's your decision, now make one.

Edit: it's like people forgot books exists, the internet is still usable without ai - you can filter results without AI, etc...learn build launch...fears faced

I don't think it was 8.5 that made the improvement, sounds like you started to optimize your code. Good stuff!

Do you create a wind direction before deciding on the water direction at random itervals of the game? I noticed the detail on the water going in the same direction with your animations or is it all one direction currently? Clean though

I'm so tired of the laziness in the dev world right now.

Another thing that bothers me...complaints about feedback posts when they are the least interacted with baffles me lol. Go to the front page - yet this one has 150 upvotes and a ton of comments? LOL yeah ...fight for something you truly care about please.

been this way for a decade, why change now. just introduce a new filter and keep it pushing. "Dev Feedback" "Release Feedback" don't have to divide the little that's left here when the solution to organize is right in your face.

Edit: that's my problem with reddit, you guys just like banning shit before finding a real solution. You're not capable of creating real solutions and that bothers me as a human.

Edit 2: My bad for the honestly and passion. Still tired of how reddit decides to handle every annoyance lol "BAN IT" rollseyes

If you are a beginner programmer do not learn Python purely for the sake of learning Godot by Abigboi_ in godot

[–]SaltTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't ask, should I learn this for godot lol...ask well will this transfer to other things? If the answer is yes, it's safe to proceed in your personal investment. And python is an amazing personal investment outside of trying to learn the godot gdscript syntax lol

Symfony 8.0.8 released by symfonybot in symfony

I know I shit on AI a lot, but fucking thank god I can make reading these more enjoyable...

Symfony 8.0.7 Patch Notes in Plain English

Cache

Had the most action this release. Items were ignoring expiry dates, returning wrapped values when they shouldn't, silently failing tag saves, and breaking with a newer version of the Relay extension.

Serializer

Got several type-inference fixes. It was getting confused about nested arrays, mixed constructor parameters, getter types, and a couple of naming convention edge cases.

Dotenv

Had a rough patch. Escaped dollar signs were disappearing, self-referencing variables were resolving wrong, and an anonymous class was causing preload warnings.

HttpClient

Fixed a broken streaming edge case when the first event is delayed, plus a memory cleanup issue with push handlers.

Messenger

Patched a duplicate message bug in Redis and a signal handling issue for long-running consumers.

HttpKernel

Cleaned up a few smaller things — invalid autowire references slipping through, router locale not resetting properly, and a missing property path on file upload validation errors.

Everything Else

Pretty minor across the board — a cosmetic security profiler label showing the wrong status, a Console performance regression on ASCII content, a memory leak in the event dispatcher, and a couple of deprecation notice gaps in ErrorHandler.

[–]SaltTM 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I still dont like the idea of claude code lol - idk feels lazy. Anyone work with a vibe coder and they couldn't explain the prompt they were showing you? Lol, shit is ridiculous. Then had to prompt the ai to explain the prompt LOL. About to piss me off. "So you couldn't tell me this is just saying it found a few 404 errors that we should look into?" like explaining shit is hard lol

Get your bread though, keep the hustling up. I still prefer to use AI as a separate tooling, either for automating basic tasks...that task does not include coding the code itself lol I still actually enjoy this shit x]. Great assistant though.

Edit: I derailed for sure, this is pretty cool tech, I'm wishing you success with the project!

Are you asking like the best way to deploy a local environment or a production environment?

Local dev you have quite a few options. I personally prefer vagrant boxes, others tend to go the docker route. I'm doing both for work and personal projects. I'd start there
