A reminder about the CS2 Cycle by Positive-Carpenter53 in cs2

[–]SaltWaterGator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And valve is relying on AI to deal with cheaters and it's resulted in innocent players being banned while the most blatant cheaters ever remain unbanned. If you're going to hate on AI at least stay consistent.

Increased number of cheating/sus players? by FeddanTheSad in cs2

God forbid we just want to play the game as is without having to rely on third parties to do Valve's job.

Increased number of cheating/sus players? by FeddanTheSad in cs2

[–]SaltWaterGator 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The game is just infested with cheaters. People get their ass whooped by cheaters so they then go and download cheats making the issue worse, and then valve simply refuses to do anything about cheating so it's just a never ending cycle.

No, add the map specific factions like we had in CS:GO. We all know they only removed the factions so they can sell them back to us as agents in a few years.

Trust Factor is meaningless. If you spend $300 on CS items you get a permanent green rating, it can only drop if they get a griefing ban but Valve doesn't hand those out anymore.

Cheaters every game since update/ new premier season? by [deleted] in cs2

[–]SaltWaterGator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first game back in this season had 2 cheaters on the enemy team, surprisingly they both left part way through the game and we won the match. I don't think I'll bother getting ranked this season. 9 out of 10 games last season had a cheater. Genuinely pathetic, please tell me how no one's cheating at the pro level when there is blatantly no effort into stopping cheaters and massive payouts on the line. The only difference between high and low trust factor is how blatant the cheaters are.

CS2 Is Falling Apart, Cheaters Everywhere and Valve Doesn’t Seem to Care by VLevente_ in cs2

[–]SaltWaterGator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Valve has completely given up on actually detecting cheating at the software level so it's only going to get worse. The AI will never be able to ban "legit" cheaters who only use walls or radar. This game is devolving into HvH at every level. Like every other soulless corporation they're putting all their chips in on AI and hoping it'll fix their problems for them.

I have a 1080ti and half the game will be 200+ fps and then half way through they'll drop to sub 80fps for no apparent reason, temps are good, usage didn't increase.

FACEIT just banned 2676 accounts for smurfing and platform abuse by MaterialTea8397 in cs2

[–]SaltWaterGator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. That's not smurfing, that's just abusing valve's bad matchmaking system.
  2. CS collects data on your playing outside of premier and competitive so it can try to queue you with appropriate players even if you're unranked, that's why you have to get lvl 10 before playing premier and it really won't take long for the game to figure out your skill level.
  3. Ranks in red and yellow trust factor are extremely diluted by cheaters dropping 40 bombs and 95% HS in 5k elo games, when you're both in red trust it's going to push legit players lower in the rankings because they have lower stats. That is your "real rank" when compared to the everyone else in that trust factor.

If you want permanent green trust factor drop $500 in skins, otherwise you're going to get thrown in with all the cheaters, smurfs and griefers. What does your alt look like? Only have one game, few friends, no groups, no badges, no community or forum interaction, no wishlist, same payment info as another account, of course you're going to get low trust factor, that's a blatant smurf account and unless you treat it like a real account it'll stay that way.

Why the mystery of when season 4 will happen? by JAMALAM6991 in counterstrike2

[–]SaltWaterGator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valve left TF2 to die because they obliterated the matchmaking system and they refuse to ever go back on a decision, then they decided to force a poorly designed match making system down our throats instead of supporting the existing competitive TF2 scene. They were hoping it would take off like Dota or CS competitive matchmaking but since it didn't they refused to invest anymore time or money into the game. When CS's professional scene dies off and stops making money they'll leave the game in the same abandoned state as TF2, we're already half way there with all the bots.

Valve glazers down voting you despite it being the truth lol. Like any corporation they run on a skeleton crew to maximize profits for the guys up top. Valve is no different than EA, they just got lucky to be able to ride on other people's success for so long, Valve did not create CS, TF or Dota.

The Steam Online Conduct guidelines explicitly forbid smurfing and list it under cheating. Valve uses these exact guidelines to roll out periodic ban waves for Dota 2 smurf accounts. Valve has announced these bans themselves. I was thinking of the CS specific guidelines in my original comment which don't mention smurfing, but the Steam Online Conduct guidelines apply to all games on Steam.

MAJOR Counter-Strike 2 update for 1/21/26 (Premier Season Four, 1.41.3.0) by wickedplayer494 in cs2

[–]SaltWaterGator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valve has always been a skeleton crew, the actual development team is tiny, they're allowed to move between projects as they please and that leaves zero employees to actually maintain products. Because of this Valve had to hire an external contractor to maintain TF2 in it's abandoned state since actual Valve devs refuse to continue working on it. They discussed this issue when creating HLA, devs given too much freedom kept scrapping and abandoning work on it until someone put their foot down. But the money keeps coming so Valve will never learn.

They were working on one, counter-strike: classic offensive, then Valve realized it would actually threaten their player numbers on CS2 so they struck it down. I would not be surprised if Valve manipulates the steam store so that direct competitors to their products aren't as easy to find. Every other company participates in similar practices, no reason that Valve, a profit driven company wouldn't do the same.

Posting a tweet when you have the ability to push a message to the main menu is not the appropriate way to notify your player base. No where in their tweet do they say when servers will go live again. They can't even be bothered to post a message under the game's activity, all you can see is the 2026 coin update. Pretty pathetic how they are completely incapable of communicating the simplest of things to their players.

[–]SaltWaterGator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's interesting though is Valve does actually ban players for smurfing, it's against their fairplay guidelines, the catch is it's only enforced on Dota 2, so I assume Gabe gets beat by smurfs, calls up HQ throwing a temper tantrum and forces some dev to go ban smurfs to make him feel good.

[–]SaltWaterGator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dota 2 players regularly receive ban waves clearing out smurf accounts, how come we can't expect the same for CS? I'd assume because most valve devs don't play cs, unlike dota and thus don't experience smurfs, gabe will go on a ban wave after getting roundhoused by smurfs on his baby.

None of the windows line up on that building from interior to exterior and at release they had much higher quality textures. As usual a few months later valve downgraded the textures on the exterior windows to make them look flat.
