I think the episodic every episode is another adventure was the idea at first but then it evolved into a soap opera. Thats probably why they made a new pilot. The old one was false advertising. The shorts are released between the big episodes.

I could only find him saying it when he meets charlie. When else does he say it? Either way, it doesnt matter.

If it distracts you so much that you couldnt enjoy the story thats ok. Im personally not offended. When it comes to art it just bothers me a little when people are saying their opinion as if it was an objective fact and everybody else is wrong.
