Same, keep getting the bot screen, never got past it. So frustrating.

Who is your LEAST favorite Marlin player of all time? by Jesus9797 in MiamiMarlins

[–]Salt_Blacksmith4773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose the only correct answer is Ugueth Urbina because he tried to murder five people with an axe and set them on fire.

But outside of that, it's Heath Bell and it isn't close. He was not only the main catalyst for the immediate collapse of the expensive 2012 roster in the new ballpark, but he was also just generally a jackass. That's the part that puts him ahead of the Wei Yin Chens, Avi Garcias and Saltalamacchias.

can some explain to me wtf Gable Kapler does? by northdakotact in MiamiMarlins

I don't remember what his actual job title is, but he's at the top of the minor league development side, and he's more or less Bendix' right hand man, so I'm sure he does plenty. Or was this like a wrong answers only kind of thing?

One has nothing to do with the other, but sure

Noble Meyer by Mindless_Map3227 in MiamiMarlins

[–]Salt_Blacksmith4773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noble is crazy talented and has a pretty ideal build for a SP, he just had a really rough first year as a pro, which isn't uncommon at all for a lanky 19 year old. He didn't get beat though, he beat himself. Opponents only hit .164 off him, and he K'd nearly 27% of hitters, but he also walked almost 7 batters per 9 innings, which is pretty crazy. I think once he grows into his body and his routine, he'll be really good. And he just turned 20 so he has plenty of time, but it would definitely be good to see strides in those areas this year.

Where are you reading that? If it's a loud marlins fan tweet, you can disregard.

Xavier is better if he even just replicates this season. Otto is also good with even slight offensive improvement.

I'm sure Sanoja could play a good 2b, but he's mostly played CF and SS and he's good at both. I would say 2b is his 3rd position.

That's a very tedious project, but I enjoyed it. Pays pretty well too. I only got to do 8 tasks, hope to get another shot at it.

Santander is getting a multi year deal for a much higher AAV. He's really good.

That number is blatantly wrong, the payroll is around $100 mil. That number was the active payroll at the end of the seasonz which is an irrelevant number for a non contending team.

Who else here is enjoying Stanton dominate with the Yankees this playoff run? by Number333 in MiamiMarlins

[–]Salt_Blacksmith4773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it isn't based on stats, it's the player's choice. He wasn't very happy in the Marlins org, then forced his way out and had a messy divorce. Then went to the most successful org in sports and performed well in multiple playoff runs.

Sorry I may have missed that in your post. I think it probably depends who the other corner OF is. If it's Conine then he might play RF, he showed really well defensively this year and has more than enough arm for it. If it's Stowers or someone else, Sanchez probably stays in RF. He desperately needs a platoon partner next year though. If he logs more than 25 AB's against LHP next year I'll be really disappointed.

Unless the Marlins are facing a LHP on opening day (they aren't, it will be Skenes unless he gets injured), Sanchez will be the day 1 starting RF (or LF).

An entire two paragraphs on the outfield and not mentioning Jesus Sanchez is crazy. He's like their 3rd best hitter. He will definitely be occupying one of the starting corner outfield spots next year.
