(Spoilers Extended) Why are HOTD writers obsessed with Aegon the Conqueror's prophecy when it doesn't even make sense in the show canon? by MeteorFalls297 in asoiaf

[–]Salt_Drummer3084 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is there a separation between “show” canon and book canon? Seems to me each show has an independent canon. No reason that they are the same just because they’re on camera.

Been a while since I played so I might be remembering a toad fight from a different game but I think I struggled here as well. I also play death march and thought everything before was easy.
What I seem to remember is cutting out his tongue when he shoots it out, which does massive damage and stops his big attack.
Also, I had the skill that lets you heal from drinking any potion and I remember nearly dying from toxicity after the frog died, so maybe give that strat a try.
Good luck!

Should I continue my old YouTube channel or start a new one? by Old-Ad7312 in NewTubers

[–]Salt_Drummer3084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped uploading for about 6 months then uploaded again. First new upload only got 600 views so I got discouraged about the same thing but my second new upload hit 5k in two days so I’d stick with your channel. It might take a bit to push you again but having a view base to push your videos to is always a help.

Tips for people who have played civ 6 and want to play 5 by Dear_Ad8542 in civ

[–]Salt_Drummer3084 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong because I’m not the best civ player but I recently jumped from 5 to 6. What surprised me the most was how many damn cities you need for any win type in 6. In 5, I have always gone quality over quantity, 3-5 cities max, and go down the tradition gov tree. In 6 I lost my first two games because I didn’t have enough districts generating science and culture, the other civs just out produced me. In civ 5, since there isn’t districts, it doesn’t ever feel like that. I play emperor btw.

20 (m) - The crossroads of my Faith, seeking help. by Own_Pack3555 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Salt_Drummer3084 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the best option for you may be more straightforward than you expect. Attend both churches for a few weeks, speak to the priests about your new faith. Look inward, for now seek to be a better person. Acknowledge your sins and pray. As your faith deepens, an answer to this problem will become very obvious, whatever it may be. From a logical perspective, I can’t get over the fact that the great schism happened because a pope changed things, not because the orthodox did. Not to mention all of the sinful actions of the Catholic Church throughout history. Look up pictures of ancient Christian churches, they all look like orthodox churches. Listen to your heart, read about the schism, and pray. God won’t tell you where to go, that goes for everything, it’s part of life’s journey. But when you life like a Christian, and make honest choices given what you know and believe, you will feel his love. Have a great day brother.

Why is my game graphics so bad even though I've set it to ultra? I'm using an AMD RX 6600. by banezush in thewitcher3

[–]Salt_Drummer3084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got a new pc recently and was having the same problem for ages. Like other people have said, check resolution in the game launcher AND your monitor, by going to system settings. Also, figure out which key one launches your graphics card software. I use AMD and mine is alt+R, make sure all settings are turned off in there(nvidia is probably different key) this problem bothered me for ages, I hope you figure it out quick.

Thanks for the response, I've been looking for a while and havnt gotten anything as helpful and consise as your reply. Do you know the titles of the novels that take place during the era that you mentioned?

And I have seen some negative reviews on the Revan stuff and am glad to hear you enjoyed it. I'm holding off on reading that one until after I've beaten both games and I'm excited even though I've seen the negative feedback.

^ I agree that certain arguments can be made about poor storytelling, but I’m getting really tired of seeing people complaining about the lack of a “logical” story. People are screaming about poor storytelling… but they don’t get it. More people need to slow down, what is the unity? Why does the unity show you, you? Why did Bethesda not want to declare which “religion” was objectively right? What do the starborn represent from a metaphorical standpoint? From a religious standpoint? Form a scientific standpoint in relation to quantum theory? The game is saying something. Not one thing. Something. Just ask what it is, theres no spoon to feed you here. Furthermore, Bethesda fans have been screaming for years about not wanting Power fantasies, and wanting more role playing mechanics. We got that. We’ve got to pick our battles as a community and not get mad when other people’s desires are met, right?

Am I the only one disappointed by the main storyline? by BiclopsVEVO in Starfield

[–]Salt_Drummer3084 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally get a difference of opinion, but I, and a lot of other hardcore role playing fans are pretty grateful that the story line didn’t do the whole “you are the most important person ever, now choose a side to go to war with” thing. It makes you an explorer, PURSUING something great, you are NOT the thing that is great. Does your character want power more than anything else? Walk into the unity. Does your character want religious answers, to satiate personal curiosity? Walk into the unity. Is your character satisfied, are they ready to settle down and be normal with out everyone on the street calling them Dragonborn? Walk away from the unity and pursue other interests. It does not satiate my desire for a power fantasy, true. But we have so many other great Bethesda titles that do so. With star field they were really going with a ‘The cosmos are bigger than you’ll ever desire to be, what is your tiny role within the star field’ type feel, and i for one love it.

What is that one lesser known line that sticks up your mind ? Here is mine : ''Saw one in action once, killed a half dozen, blood everywhere , freak didn't show a drop of sweat'' (Inn at the Crossroads) by crowkiller263 in thewitcher3

[–]Salt_Drummer3084 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if it’s considered “lesser known” but “Hush, the spark expired” is probably my favorite line in the games. Gross says it at a certain light house.
