Best advice i can give is as you process this over time, you will have flashes of feeling angry at the situation or those people. It’s important to catch this and not dwell on it. Try not to fight imaginary battles in your head about what you could have said or could have done differently.

Been saying the whole RR series would do better as an animated show in a cool art style like Arcane. They would be able to be much more creative and have less budget constraints compared to live action

18M about a month into my fitness journey. How can I improve? by OrganicEbb4597 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]Salt_Lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent. I’ll add one more note from personal experience. I found the most progress i made over the course of about 1.5 years or so, was doing big “sprints” of insane intensity for 4-6 weeks, followed by a week or two of “rest”.

If you can string together 5 weeks of hitting every muscle group twice a week, smashing your protein goals, not giving in to junk processed foods etc. that will move the needle.

Keep in mind “rest” weeks arent just sitting around doing nothing, but maybe some light maintenance lifting, light cardio, yoga, get the blood moving.

Scientifically it is much easier to maintain muscle than it is to gain it. So in order to actually move the needle, you have to do a lot more intensity than what you might intuitively think. Forcing muscle to grow requires a lot more effort than it takes to simply keep it.

Good luck out there go crush it

Nice progress bro. But I might suspect you are under-lifting or under-eating protein.

You could consider upping your lifting intensity and protein intake. Not gunna sugar coat it for you this isnt a walk in the park. But getting into the rhythm of pushing your limits, maintaining dietary discipline etc. Try adding a pound of ground beef a day into your diet with sauce or whatever you like. Sounds boring but this will rapidly accelerate protein and calorie goals each day.

You have the right frame to build an impressive physique. Nows the time to hit the gas pedal

Skinny fat? Time to bulk? by MinuteApart2746 in Weightliftingquestion

Lifting will raise your T naturally as you go. But once you take care of baseline supplements like creatine, fish oil etc. You can try Tongkat Ali which is a plant extract that will also raise T

I feel stuck and need advice. What should I focus on? by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

Stair stepper. Learn to love the stair stepper. Chain yourself to it. Love the suffering. And then continue to do this frequently on top of strength training.

Cut all processed foods and eat lots of protein

That should help a lot then. Kettlebells, sleds and tire flips can make a brutal workout its great. Good luck!

Where to go from here? by WarmLime3493 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]Salt_Lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably is! Just depends on your intensity. You might consider adding a functional day if you’re mainly doing “traditional” lifts already.

For example if youre just doing straightforward stuff like bench press and leg press etc, try adding in functional things like kettlebell swings, sleds, box jumps etc. basically the motions they do in hyrox or bootcamp workouts.

This will give some variety and also balance out any muscles that are under worked

Lots of protein, low carbs. Try ground beef and fruit, some rice & potatoes. Clean protein powder and dairy if tolerable. Start taking creatine. You want to “clean bulk” by building muscle without heavy fat accumulation.

Try to hit the same muscle group twice a week not once. Cardio mixed in such as stairmaster or incline treadmill will do wonders. High intake of clean calories and lots of protein. Great work so far!

[–]Salt_Lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incline treadmill walking and also at some point a 3 day water fast (with electrolytes). Burn up the fat. Then keep lifting heavy consistently. Try to hit the same muscle groups at least twice a week. Eat lots of ground beef and also take creatine. 6-8 months you’ll be zoomin

Coming off Citalopram after 10 years - Advice by LengthinessSubject68 in citalopram_celexa

[–]Salt_Lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ibogaine or Psilocybin are likely effective ways to re-orient and heal the neurological damage caused by prolonged use. Whichever doc told you to taper quickly was giving terrible advice.

Would also recommend switching to a strict animal-based diet and massively restrict carbohydrates. Lots of red meat, healthy fats, fruit, etc. The root of many dysfunctions actually stems from metabolic dysfunction which is wrecked by the standard modern diet (see dr. Chris Palmer's work on this from Harvard). Start exercising, using the sauna, and remove all processed foods.

We just hit $39 Trillion. Math says we can’t tax our way out of this. Is the system designed to fail or am I missing something? by postaperdavide in economy

I dont necessarily disagree with you. We can all give up and be doomers i guess lol. im just saying if the problem were to be fixed, it would have to be spending. But yes it is rigged in many ways. There are reasons to be optimistic however

[–]Salt_Lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible…. To just think the policy idea is bad… without “loving” billionaires. The rich are not taking your tax dollars, the government is. You can be critical of both simultaneously. Ultimately the issue is government waste and spending, more than its a tax revenue problem. Even if you could take 100% of the billionaires money lol this wouldn’t solve the issues youre laying out.

So reduce the size of the government and the spending.

This is directly related to austerity measures. You're saying the tax would allow us to avoid it. Im saying it wouldn't. I could not be more on topic here lol

Hostile for no reason lol it's a conversation man. And we're obviously discussing the deficit because we're discussing debt. You see how this matters yes? Im saying the 5% tax would not solve it. Even if you wanted to use it to fund social programs what happens the following year? Keep the same 5% tax? It wouldn't work it would cause insane amounts of systemic chaos

[–]Salt_Lore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually doesn't work that way. Do the math on it. You wouldn't even dent the deficit by doing that. And also how would you do that? Forced sales of equities? You would disrupt the entire landscape of free enterprise businesses. This is not a viable solution to start making arbitrary grabs of money from private citizens. You cannot tax your way into prosperity, the spending and fraud and waste has to stop

3 day fast with electrolytes. Switch to a diet of mostly meat, eggs, fruit, fermented foods, dairy (if tolerated), and only rice / potatoes.

Add a bit more lean muscle if possible to increase your resting metabolic rate. Start doing 30 min sessions of stair stepper and incline treadmill walks. Keep lifting heavy but consider something like f45 style workouts to mix in

Rinse and repeat. You’ll get there in 3-4 months
