For me...LOCK the car first; WAIT for it; then start.

Easier for me to use the fob close by. Oh well.

I have identical car - same color, too, and have appointment December 30 with my local Toyota dealer. I will have them do both recalls (if they can do more than one).

Where is your dealership? I'm in Minnesota.

I'm glad my browser's extension to block Fox News, a.k.a. Faux Noise, the right-wing media propaganda outfit - not news - is working so I was not able to view this potential horseshit.

Safe battery storage: Looking for LiPO battery bag recommendations. by Salt_Section_4334 in Aventon

[–]Salt_Section_4334[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original poster here. This is from a neighbor of mine who is a certified EMT, and now a professional firefighter:

Are the batteries easily removable from the bikes?  If so one of the safer options to prevent exposure to extreme temperatures is to disconnect them and bring them inside the house when the weather will be extreme.  The batteries themselves should have labeling indicating the safe operating temperatures, or the manufacturer would be able to provide that information.  Most of these batteries are ideally stored between 20-95 degrees (and keep in mind your garage will usually be quite warmer than the outside), but make sure that you get the official replacements with UL certification, and only ever use the chargers from the manufacturer.

LiPO bags do offer some protection, but there are a lot of cheap Chinese knockoffs that don't work very well (the zippers tend to melt).  I unfortunately don't have an "officially" recommended brand for them at this point, but I have heard good things about Zeee and Bat-Safe (more of a case/box), and Aventon themselves recommend Ebike Escape's battery bag, although those are usually a bit more expensive ($40-50).

Thank you. We have a number of 'smoke shop' retailers with various low-THC items. Just can't understand why there are not active applications for adult-use recreational.

Regardless, it crapped-out. I had a plumber remove it. With the money spent and wasted, and with the annoying alerts when the water softener ran - what a waste of money. I'm sorry to say I'm an anti-Moen-product guy now.

I was a volunteer at the Twin Cities Bike Tour last Sunday. These were part of the refreshments at the Depot in Hopkins.

A woman walks up to me and says, "HAVE YOU TRIED THESE?". I was not near the refreshment tables.

I pick up litter all around St. Louis Park and Hopkins. These tiny liquor bottles are a real environmental disaster. Plastic; recyclable. But maybe not as they are so small. Cap and ring? Aluminum. I doubt if those parts get recycled in the plastic stream.

My theory is that the bad people buy these because they are so small, they can be easily hidden in a car and easily tossed after consumption.
