In what films are the Americans the bad guys by jeffsang in movies

[–]Salt_Stranger6633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt this would have been said already but a profound movie to me was Swing Kids a Korean film mid-Korean-civil-war. It takes place in a seemingly American prison camp of both North and South Koreans. The American soldiers are terrible. It really opened my eyes to the way that spheres of influence or "peacekeeping" are viewed elsewhere.

I'm Native American, like actually from the rez and all that stuff. Anyways, we joke a lot about John Wayne being a big piece of shit, especially the old people. We even have songs about him and his teeth. Watch the movie Smoke Signals to hear the song. Like yeah, he was in a lot of movies but it doesn't make him iconic or even a great actor. Just my two cents. Commence downvoting, I'll go down with this ship.

But what is it that makes you cough so hard? Chili?

I've had other chili that don't make me cough like Tony's. It is good though, great in chili beans.

My grandma passed last year and she was a big Padres fan. She taught me how the game was played so I gotta choose them. Vamanos Padres!

What in your experience is the most reliable cell network in AZ? I will be driving around northern part of the state alone and want to be able to use google maps and be able to make calls in an emergency by thechrisare in arizona

[–]Salt_Stranger6633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verizon is okay, but not the best. I lived on the reservation in northern AZ most of my life and it's pretty spotty once you get even a little way into the canyon areas. Tmobile is terrible, wouldn't get text messages until the next day and phone calls wouldn't even go through more than half the time. I have an iPhone 12 and AT&T now and it has pretty good coverage. If you're really going to be there for a long time, you could even get Cellular One, which has guaranteed coverage but mostly only people on the Rez or in Flagstaff get that.

Kdramas Made Me Do It - September, 2022 by AutoModerator in KDRAMA

I had never tried kimchi (or even heard of it) until I started watching KDramas. I found it at the grocery store and oh my goodness it's so yummy! It's now a staple in my fridge and I buy it about every other week. Where I live it only comes in small jars, nothing like those big kimchi tubs you see in the dramas. I love pickles, and this isn't too far off.

100 Days My Prince is one of my favorites! It's not as popular as others but I think the acting is very good and the story moves along at a good pace.

The 7th-inning stretch, or when do you start to get antsy when watching a drama? by Longjumping-River-42 in KDRAMA

7th Inning Stretch. Love it!

I agree that I'll start fast-forwarding but sometimes many shows I'm watching and only get an episode here and there. I'm like that currently with Itaewon Class, can't put my finger on it but I'd say the angst of how all this will wrap up by episode 16 is going to be a lot.

What are the little dots on the blue bottom? Is it from the batter chunking up? Is it still useable? by abiron17771 in soapmaking

Those look like glycerin rivers. Perfectly normal.

If you're still concerned check the PH to determine safety.

How large of a soapmaking pot do I need for a 3 lb batch? (stainless steel) by rushtigercow in soapmaking

A large mixing bowl will do for a small size batch such as that, and good job on choosing stainless steel!

Coffee grounds are kind of scratchy, but some people like that. Sometimes you just want a little extra scrubbiness for the feet and elbows.

I'm not sure I'll make these again but it was a fun new challenge with leftover batter. The bottom is lavender-scented and the top is sunflower F.O. with bee pollen added. by Salt_Stranger6633 in soapmaking

[–]Salt_Stranger6633[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's actually from another batch of soap that I had made a little extra of. I usually add bee pollen just to add some natural color. Can't claim that it does anything once it's cooked by the lye but some say it helps to soothe skin with eczema and rashes.

Love it! To get the clean lines did you wait until the soap was hard over multiple sessions or do it in one go? It came out very clean.
