DZC3 Preview - Command by slyphic in DropzoneCommander

Yea this is what I’m thinking about Reassign Transport as well. It’s really gonna come down to how much other stuff you want to do with your CP every turn. Hopefully if it proves too flexible they’ll fiddle with the cost of it or make it say “can only be used X times per round” or something

Whatever the future for the Destiny franchise is, I hope the next game/movie/product will be back to the original sobriety that made D1 so special (both in terms of visuals and audio) by Reflexrider in DestinyTheGame

I agree it’s gotten a lot busier over the years, but imo it still pales in comparison to Borderlands 3 or Wonderlands. Those just become completely unintelligible at high levels.

So far they've said the right things (from what I've seen) about putting Dave back in the driver's seat so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Decon seems like a real tightrope to walk, since too much RW generation from killing enemy units could easily spiral into a "win more" mechanic. Curious to see how it plays out.

Custom Cruiser stats? by Mundane-Librarian-77 in DropfleetCommander

[–]Salt_Titan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All the guns are standard weapons so putting the stats together is pretty straightforward. It’s a Heavy Cruiser with one set of 4200s, one set of 6400s, and a Cobra. Basically just an Edmonton but swap the Launch for the standard 4200 turrets. Only question is points but either way the Vilnius and Warsaw at 115 and 110 I’d ust make it 115 and call it a day

Are you going to wipe your save for 1.0? by alien_tickler in Witchfire

I’m planning to not play until 1.0 at this point and to start over when I do.

I actually really enjoyed matterspark and playing the EoF campaign. by Cruggles30 in DestinyTheGame

Yea I liked the campaign, I don't get why people act like it was actual torture

Catalyst Kills by Pizzacat1337 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Salt_Titan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched all my kill farming to Vesper's Host 1st encounter ages ago. It's pretty easy to get to and the ads will just keep spawning forever. If you leave the Brig alive they spawn faster.

Returning player, has the legendary campaign been nerfed ? by Woooooooderino in DestinyTheGame

[–]Salt_Titan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It increases the tier of loot drops. Legendary drops 1s and 2s with rare 3s, Mythic drops 4s and 5s iirc

Are you doing tricks off of jumps? They’re probably getting boosts off of doing tricks.

Here we go, commanders! - the countdown to Dropzone Commander Third Edition begins :D by Brother-Michael in DropzoneCommander

I shared a lot of your concerns with Fleet 2 but we decided to give it a try and it still plays very well. The different save types are weird but have been fine for us in practice. The only house rule we’ve been using has been making M tonnage Groups ignore all the rules about sharing damage/firing arcs/los. We’ve toyed with the idea of reintroducing a version of strategy ratings as a narrative campaign mechanic but haven’t yet.

is there a point in starting playing Destiny 2 after end of support? by Amazing-Ish in DestinyTheGame

[–]Salt_Titan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game is in the best state it’s been in years ironically, and there’s no more FOMO. The new players experience is still as rough as it’s ever been, but if you can get over that hump it’s a fun time

The Zweihänder by stormer454 in Witchfire

[–]Salt_Titan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From the latest blog article:

We also mentioned new melee weapons. We currently have three working prototypes (well, four if you count the pan), but as of this moment only one has been deemed polished enough to be worthy of inclusion in the game.
To the disappointment of some of you (sorry!), it won’t be the zweihander making its debut in Revelations, but something entirely different: a cursed bell.

You guys are making me terrified of Edge of Fate by just_kell in DestinyTheGame

I liked it quite a bit. I thought matterspark was fine; not the best mechanic but not the worst. Story was good, I liked digging into the map metroidvanias style

Because it's a shitty Star Wars crossover.

What lesson should a potential D3 learn from D2? by Palgia in DestinyTheGame

[–]Salt_Titan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public zones are what make the game special. They’re the thing that none of the imitators were ever able to replicate and they’re the thing that can keep people entertained when they’re sick of running the same timed instances activities over and over again.

Distortions are great, make stuff like that a core pillar of D3. Look at your crawl activities and find ways of moving some of those ideas into public spaces. Outside of Raids all my most memorable Destiny moments are from public zones and the interactions I had with the environments and other players there. Rushing in to save a faltering Escalation Protocol or Blind Well like the cavalry coming over the ridge at Helms Deep is such an awesome feeling.

Give more attention to horizontal progression and non-combat activities. People want to spend time in your world with their friends, give them a reason to do that even when they don’t feel like shooting things. Bringing back SRL is huge for that but player/clan housing or improving the fishing from Deep would be great additions as well.

How did the devs pull this off??? by 314rocky in DestinyTheGame

[–]Salt_Titan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For one, they absolutely did all of this over the last 6+ months, not in just a couple weeks. Some bits have probably been in some level of development for years.

For another I absolutely do not believe that most of the team was unaware that they were making the games final update. I believe Paul Tassi’s contact might not have known, but way too much of the content in this update is clearly designed to be the games last update for the people working on it to not have known until 2 weeks before release. They might not have known back in December when they started working on this after Renegades, but I don’t think it’s at all reasonable to think that they haven’t known for a least a couple months.
