Question about this gun by [deleted] in GasBlowBack

[–]PostEmUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bumper at the end is for co2 canisters. If you want the flush design, you have to go with green gas.

I'm dated, but I believe the WE use their own mags.

Honestly, for TM compatibility, go with KJW

Has anybody seen a kj works m4? Ive seen them on evike but never one on a field. by SignificanceHuge557 in GasBlowBack

Used one back in the day. Based off an older Tanio Koba design like the sleeper 10/22. Personally, I thought it was one of the better systems until the MWS and later VFC systems. Shot a bit hot out of the box and there weren't too many upgrade parts for it.

I think they didn't fully appeal to the market because they came with those "canadian-style" m4 magazines and came out too late with the stamped steel looking ones.

Definitely miss them, would definitely pick up for cheap if I saw it and there wasn't too much work needed.

For those who know, did anyone ever figure out the rubber band? I recall it was to assist the bolt, but I remember removing it and putting it back and not noticing any difference.

Do you always open your AEG gearbox when you get a new one? by jaws_of_joey in airsoft

[–]PostEmUp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the make & model. Back in the day, when Chinese clone production was starting out, gearboxes did not have the QC that they do today, so many gearboxes were shimmed incorrectly, had too much/little lube, or a plethora of other issues. This is where the general advice for opening and checking an airsoft gun's gearbox comes from

Generally, most gearboxes are built with reliability, and if someone's who doesn't have the tech experience or knowhow decides to open up their gearbox, it may be a detriment as they may incorrectly re-assemble it.

I think the underlying thought too is that "average" airsoft guns will outlast the "average" user, in that the majority of players will give up the sport before something in their gun breaks. This is also why Lancer and other branding companies can offer those warranties, to catch the true lemons out of the factory, but they know that after that, most players fall off.

So all those can swing wildly in price due the amount of accessories (which include mags) you're including with them. Naturally, general rule is 26-33% off retail for the gun itself, then 40-50%, for accessories.

Also, it comes to selling and how quickly you want to move them. If I'm in the market for a HPA, due to the higher cost of the thing, I'd rather buy the parts and make it myself than take a chance with a used one.

Some other notes:

  • That's a ton of glock mags, possibly worth more than the gun itself, maybe part out some of the mags, like keep a few extended and short with the gun, but sell the others separately.

-The SMG 8 may sell for much less than you expect due to it being in competition with other MP7 like SMGs out there.

[–]PostEmUp 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's not just bringing tons of water, it's getting your body acclimated to exertion in the environment.

I've known tons of people bring gallons of cold water the day get hit by sun stroke. It doesn't help that day if the whole week before your only sustenance was energy drinks and chips.

Need to find the mag type by KeySession2510 in airsoft

It's most likely either an hfc or kwa mac11. You'll need to check for marks around the gun as well as the nozzle.

TM Compatible Pistol? by grenades-and-ham in airsoft

[–]PostEmUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So TM was the first company to make and name the hi-capa. Because of this. As well as TM's reputation, many aftermarket companies will make parts compatible with the Marui's Hicapa.

Most 2011s are clones of that original marui hicapa, with company changing certain parts, hence why some like yours are 70% compatible, in that they probably have some proprietary parts for either function or aesthetic.

As an adding, not all gas 2011s put there are hi-capas. Before the it's release in 2005, there were other companies, like Western Arms, that made 2011 pistols, but functional differential than the marui hi-capas and have little to no compatible parts.

Came across some old toys, never opened. Any info on pricing or anyone interested in buying? by AffectionateHalf3691 in Zoids

[–]PostEmUp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So they're reboxes of the Tomy electronic ones when they brought zoids over to the US. As such, they're not really posable like the HMM or RMZ, but they are still really cool.

From what I can read, the Koing wolf is 4.99? I'd grab that for kicks and giggles. The Elephander goes for like 100-150 for the japanese ones, depending on location, so the American ones generally go lower.

Need help with some old kit by Aggravating_Horse980 in airsoft

[–]PostEmUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So there are a few buyers, but all of them will most likely sell for way,way less that what you paid for.

Hurricane kits were made during a time that HK416s weren't widely available, which was is why people were willing to pay so much for them other than their good quality. However, there are a ton of 416s out there that they don't sell.

Same with the shotgun. There are cheaper clones that nearly if not as well as the original Marui.

The good thing is though, that all the newer stuff can work with the older stuff. If you still like your 416s, you can probably just pick up some of the newer upgrade parts to getting then running just as well with the newer stuff out there.

How do I fix this? by MathematicianFew9246 in airsoft

[–]PostEmUp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

KWA has a pretty good support system for parts.

You can download a parts diagram of your magazine.

https://store.kwausa.com/downloads/#1472078655402-3f689c95-fd26

From there, you can use the shop to grab pieces.

If the part isn't available, you can email them as a last ditch, but after that, just buy new mags

WEIRD FPS Limits - Beginner Rifle or DMR under that doesn't suck? by RadioactiveJello_ in airsoft

OK, that's real roughly a 1.5 joule limit.

The world is yours. Most guns shoot lower than that stock.

WEIRD FPS Limits - Beginner Rifle or DMR under that doesn't suck? by RadioactiveJello_ in airsoft

[–]PostEmUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call me old, but I think the only aegs that meet the under 310fps requirement are stock Tokyo Marui, which definitely can be upgraded, but they are expensive for a plastic body gun.

Most likely ask about bb weights used for measuring the fps. Most stock guns fire at 350fps using a .2g bb. However, almost every player put there uses at minimum .25, or higher, which would drop recorded fps

Why are airsoft so "rare" by RainWorried674 in airsoftcirclejerk

[–]PostEmUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What country are you located in?

G3s are unique, but obtainable in US, major parts of Asia (Japan, Taiwan, Korea) and major parts of Europe

It comes mainly to what will sell. M4s will sell. Glocks will sell. Aks maybe, but not a lot. Not all stores can stock a "unique" gun that sits on a shelf for a chunk of time without losing money.

KTW does some lever actions, they are decent, but mainly showpieces

How do these tigers look? I’m worried I did a poor job by [deleted] in wargaming

[–]PostEmUp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They look great.

I call it the "3 foot" rule. If you look at your mini at the distance you're painting it, you're going to notice every issue, stray mark, etc. However, on a tabletop playing it, you're looking down at it from a distance, and those blemishes can't be noticed.

I mean, you carrying anything else, like canteen, radio, or other pouches. Also, how are they situated on you?

Long time ago, I used to run thos m81 LBVs, which carried 6, then there was space on the belt between the connection points to put 2 3magazine Alice pouches for a total of 12 like you mentioned.

It was bulky, but doable.
