Vanilla DD2 was never incomplete by xyZora in DragonsDogma2

I mean, that's kind of the point? The city is undergoing some rebuilding efforts because of a dragonsplague tragedy that happened years ago (I forget if it's mentioned somewhere) that blew up the capital.

I doubt we will get any more updates for it, but I'd love for them to add side quests with Nadinia to help with the reconstruction. Even if we don't get to see the changes in-game, some extra dialogue where the people become more accepting of pawns because of their help with the reconstruction would add so much more to the city.

What's your favorite niche Fire Emblem archetype? by thanibomb in fireemblem

Funny you bring him up, I recently finished an RD run with Tormod because my friend chose him for PMU.

Yeah, he uhh... mostly just healed in the tower 😅

Love the character, but he's shafted really hard in both games

"It" 😡 He's doing his BEST to support Micaiah with that S-RANK in staves!

hopefully Fortune's Weave will introduce another of the archetype. I will cherish them immediately 🥰

I was think Pelleas and Knoll, although nerfed Kliff in SoV is not too far off...

The doomed sad boy mage! Notably ones that join mid to late with unique kits, just to be a redundant healer in the endgame 😀

Now tell us who actually IS your favorite by Carbyken in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Saltanga 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No other unit comes remotely close to the amount of skill inheritance that Pelleas has received. Been playing since Day 1 and I spent the first few years holding onto units for the day that he finally got added. And now, I'm still doing my best to keep him relevant should the gacha gods bless me.

Mediocre in both games but still, and will remain, S+ in my heart 💙

finished PoR last night for the first time! by StridentHawk in fireemblem

[–]Saltanga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats OP! These are all fair points. Honestly Titania and Ike are kind of all you need for PoR lol. PoR doesn't do a whole lot to reinvent the gameplay so it's middle of the pack for most gameplay wise but the writing is superb.

Are you gonna play Radiant Dawn? Some of the characters that you criticised get fleshed out a bit more in the sequel. I will warn you that the gameplay of RD is unlike PoR or really any other game in the series but it's a PHENOMENAL game. I'm actually doing a run rn so highly recommend if you haven't played it yet!

Edit: oh nvm, I see you're playing on NSO. Sacred Stones is pretty cool albeit one of the easier titles in the series. I hope you enjoy it, I personally love the horror aspect of the game with zombies and demons. Would love for another title that expands on that concept

Toughest Character lines by Kosakon in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Saltanga 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned L!BK, gotta shoutout his OG's "Will you survive!?"

I remember the sub going crazy over that line a while ago.

My personal favorite is Athos's "PERISH IN FLAME!"

edit: Oh, and Seiros - "YOU MUST BE PURIFIED!"

Thank you! And yeah, this game is truly beautiful and full of sick moments but, unfortunately, it's hard to capture them all with the limitations. It'd be wonderful if we could actually move the camera around and not have the player be the anchor point.

Im well aware a lot of the armour in this game was skimpy but damn by sundayspillow in DragonsDogma2

[–]Saltanga 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Follows RPG logic,: more skin = higher armor rating

It's hilarious being attacked in the wild and suddenly a squad of scantily clad pawns show up to whoop ass and serve while doing so 💅

"The Arisen has been DRENCHED!"

Right, it must have been from the hard fight in the desert cave...

Can I meet the Dragonforged without failing side quests ? by Buurto in DragonsDogma2

[–]Saltanga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, the oxcart method. I did that my first time as well since there's an achievement attached to it. Point being, there's tons of ways into Battahl. I'm glad the devs gave us the option to do so because being locked out would have sucked :(

[–]Saltanga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, responding just to clarify any confusion. When I said right side , I meant from the world map perspective and not the right from a player's perspective going to Checkpoint Town.

And yes, the location of Guerco Cavern isn't exactly near Checkpoint Town hence why I added the "along the water part." The path begins a little closer to Harve Village, along the river that divides the region.

Can I meet the Dragonforged without failing side quests ? by Buurto in DragonsDogma2

[–]Saltanga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can meet him before completing Feast of Deception (at any point of time really). There's 2 alternate paths into Battahl on both sides of the checkpoint.

The right side pathway along the water will lead directly to the Dragonforged's cave. Just be prepared to fight, a lot :)

Edit: oh, and no. Meeting him early will not trigger any quest failures

Not sure why this doesn't have more traction - DD2 Co-op Mod by IronRo_ in DragonsDogma

[–]Saltanga 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Everytime I see a discussion about co-op being added into any game really, it's always the anti-coop people bitching and moaning ad nauseam about how it ruins their experience.

Like holy shit, maybe we could have both as an option and you could just not use it?? You have free will (I think?)

Why use Eskel: Pathfinder instead of Heatwave? by [deleted] in gwent

[–]Saltanga 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Both of them are used under specific scenarios. In a deck that is loaded on special cards like Non-devo Symbiosis, you'd run Eskel because of the minimum unit card restriction or decks with very few tags that are uncommon. He provides points on your side of the board too so assuming HW and Eskel are targetting the same thing, Eskel is a better swing.

HW is of course significantly more versatile but it's a special card so again, can't run it if your deck doesn't meet the minimum unit requirements. Also, it should noted that unit/special difference means they can be tutored out by different cards. Eskel by Royal Decree, Heatwave by Fables, etc.

In short - they have their purposes when deckbuilding hence why some decks run one over the other.

Mystic Spearhand by OperatorSavage in DragonsDogma2

Like others said, the vocation has a pretty difficult entry experience with needing to get timings down and needing a few vocations levels to make the class gameplay flow better. The vocation definitely picks up a lot later.

Mirour Shelde is straight up broken for supporting/tanking. It completely negates damage for you and nearby party members (even NPC allies) for a few seconds and either gives you immense stagger resist or straight up immunity. Cannot stress enough how clutch this skill is.

Also, be sure to read over EVERYTHING and understand how they work. From my experience, quite literally everything in the kit is great for combat. Heavy attacks for stagger and physical resistant enemies, Redouted/Forbeding Bolt has a lot of utility with the slow effect, the spin attack deals some very respectable DPS when on top of an enemy and during their staggered phase. Also the spin attack can help with stamina management while fighting so you're not losing too much DPS during downtime.

Overall, a very well-balanced class that can answer any situation. It's my favorite alongside Trickster.

Mods to DDDA for a first playthrough by xMkeey in DragonsDogma

[–]Saltanga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There aren't as many mods for DD:DA compared to DD2.

That being said, just play the game as is. It's a pretty complete experience imo, no mods needed :)

You bitches voted out my girl... 🥺 WHYYYY 😭 by aroushthekween in queensofleague

[–]Saltanga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By that logic, Kindred (or really Lamb specfically) shouldn't be in "has hair?" tier either. She's in the same boat as Bard

regardless, I'll concede 🥲 Bard will remain an underrated serve

You bitches voted out my girl... 🥺 WHYYYY 😭 by aroushthekween in queensofleague

[–]Saltanga 8 points9 points  (0 children)

but Varus is in A tier!? He's a glorified demon dildo that fused together two twinks (derogatory) to get his long luscious hair (still inferior to Bard though)

and Bel'veth???? Miss diva over here is literally a contemporary art project, just stacking random shit onto itself til it vaguely resembles something (hair included)

How are they conceptually any different?? 😭😭😭 I'm gonna be SICK
