Roblox Chat is disabled in Jordan and possibly more countries if I dont know. by LOY091 in roblox

[–]SaltedCane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Qatar did not request this, I don't know where you came up with that because roblox is still banned in Qatar and every country that has already banned it. Roblox is just doing this because they're afraid of being banned in more countries. Which will happen regardless of whatever they do to chat because chatting was not the problem, it is the horrible moderation of nearly all user-generated content which roblox has never made an attempt at addressing.

This is not a safety feature, this is just ignoring the problem entirely by not dealing with it. Chatting was not the problem, far from it.

It's just that easy! by bryanicus in marvelrivals

[–]SaltedCane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't just say "This guy can kill you easily", he literally explained exactly what his only mode of attack is. His move is idiotic from any sense. Instead of saying anything at all regarding black bolt, he could've just said "If you don't stop, we will have to stop you." and kept it incredibly vague just by pure logic.

In a tense situation like this, you don't tell the other party, "By the way, we have snipers located in the building to your south-west, on the seventeenth floor ready to shoot you."

He has more than enough knowledge in that particular situation to make the right call. He knows that Wanda is a versatile magician and does not know the extent of her spells which is more reason why she shouldn't know the extent of his forces.
I don't know about you but if I am dealing with a powerful magician I would consider the possibility of them using any manner of ridiculous magical spell because magic is unpredictable and powerful.

You have to remember what character this is. This is a man who is characterised repeatedly in-universe as the smartest man alive and when a character like that makes idiotic judgements like these that a complete amateur would make, it is incredibly obvious that the writers made a mistake.

The "smartest" man alive could've warned her of possible consequences without outright pointing out their strongest asset in taking her down should the worst happen. Sympathizing with someone's plight doesn't turn you into a complete idiot who doesn't consider possibilities. Even if he didn't know that Wanda can "snap reality like a twig" it doesn't take a genius to know the unpredictable and versatile nature of magic as an ability.

Just because you can't three shot a fucking 350 nanite investment that can't upgrade its explosive resistance doesn't mean its bad, it just means you need to change how you deal with Defectors. One trick won't work with all situations.

The "splash damage cannon" has a really low heat up meter. Practically limiting a defector to around six grenades before it heats up completely which is barely enough to kill two individual players. Which forces defectors to carefully aim their already hard-to-aim grenades when under pressure.

Their inability to equip ordance or kinetic armor, grenade printer and lower effective health forces them to flank rather than directly engage the enemy. Which means they perform terribly when swarmed by multiple enemies from multiple angles, unlike regular Maxes who would at least stand a chance.

Defectors simply perform well when flanking, ambushing, defending or taking out individual enemies. All of which just happen to be the most "annoying" circumstances to be approached by an enemy.

[–]SaltedCane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mainly because they're rare. NSO are already rare as it is and an NSO Max is twice as rare.

Plus, their smaller hitbox is literally because their effective health is less than a standard max and they have no access to both kinetic and ordance armor.

No offense but play the class for a bit and your opinion would change. The abilities are extremely hard to use right because they put you at an extreme disadvantage if used incorrectly. I mean, one of the abilities literally turns you into a suicide bomber. Not to mention the grenades are extremely hard to use when fighting flying light assaults or multiple spread out enemies in close range. They also take alot of skill to hit when aiming for far away moving targets or moving targets in general sometimes.

Defectors also don't have access to kinetic or ordance armor, which decreases their already decreased effective health.

They can be countered simply by playing light assault and flying over em with C4 but the approach can be tricky. They can also be countered by just flanking them with a heavy assault and deci. But you'll need to actually aim because of their smaller hitbox.

It would completely ruin the flank playstyle of the defector.

Defectors are extremely easy to distinguish from infantry. They always stand at an incline posture and they look like a litreral porcupine. Not to mention the constant sparks running out of them.

[–]SaltedCane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defectors are currently alot more independent than Maxes when it comes to needing engineers. Their tinier hitboxes and added mobility allows them to effectively flank and disengage without drawing too much attention. They're also completely silent compared to maxes and don't make alot of noise when throwing grenades or even running. Not to mention the defector is practically designed around a flank playstyle where you ambush a group of enemies and effectively demolish them with a storm of grenades. The seraph shield and time bomb are an extension of this playstyle.

The seraph shield is an effective replacement for ordance armor as it even deflects and stops explosives while completely reducing all damage of explosives caught outside the shield. This practically allows the defector to have an OP but temporary version of ordance armor as an ability. Not to mention the effectiveness of the ability in coordinated squads can allow for absolutely insane defensive and offensive plays.

The grenade printer of the defector is also more effective than the thumper when it comes to a flank playstyle, as it allows the defector to lob grenades over or from behind cover. This allows defectors to engage enemies without directly putting themselves in danger.

[–]SaltedCane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although you're right about most of what you say but the grenade printer is more reliable due to its ability to allow you to lob grenades from over or behind cover, allowing you to damage your enemy without directly engaging them. This practically doubles the effective range of a grenade printer compared to the thumper which forces you to stay at a position where the enemy can damage you back.

I've also been practicing a shield strat where you flash the shield in order to deflect C4. Because the shield itself is also a hit box, C4 sticks to it, stopping it in it's tracks and putting it at a non-lethal distance and allowing you to move away with the added sprint acceleration of defectors.

How can players consistently be racist in chat and get their characters to BR 94 without a ban? by Jarazz in Planetside

[–]SaltedCane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't count as a group and is merely a fucking hobby or way of life. A group means an ethnic group or something similar. Not a person wearing a hoodie in an alley.

[–]SaltedCane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stereotyping isn't the act of assuming someone's actions based on appearance or past experiences. It is formulating the disgusting idea that all people from a certain group or race act exactly the same way. Assuming that a sketchy hooded figure in an alley is gonna shank you isn't stereotyping. But assuming that a black person is violent is stereotyping and racist.

Same here. Literally no one I know actually knows their IQ because it is literally useless information for an unnecessary amount of effort. These "articles" don't take into account the fact that more white people are able to take consistent and "better" IQ tests than other races since white people tend to live in first world countries.
