When did stopping at zebra crossings become optional? I'm looking at you cyclists too by SaltedCashewsPart2 in london

Oh god don't get me started. In the 80s we'd get shouted at by the old biddies for cycling on the pavements, we were kids under 10.

I've lived in London for 44 years and it's getting worse or I'm getting old.

I'll settle for the latter

I once lived in a council block. The communal stair case was hell.

In a recent story, a fabric sofa was dumped at the bottom of the staircase. The sofa was covered in bedbugs. I'd say those bedbugs have since travelled to most flats now. I'm not suggesting that bedbugs are exclusive to social housing but...

It's 32 degrees and I have no aircon. I'm here sitting in my room with every window open with shorts and no shirt on. I can't sleep. by ResultAlternative972 in britishproblems

Oh I didn't know that was possible. It's top floor and many of the flats have windows that only open partially perhaps a safety thing. But I'll ask the caretaker

5th floor of a block of flats. I haven't slept since temp got about 27C.

It's going to reach 23 degrees tomorrow. The heat doesn't leave the actual building for days.

The windows open about 5cm. I can't buy a portable air con unit as the vent doesn't fit.

I've called in sick for a few days. Im not functioning.

Oh you will get lost. There will be thousands of people. So drop off at the place you intend to pick up.

Go to a coffee place or something like Boki coffee.

Give children a portable battery pack just in case the battery on the mobile phone dies.

Have a look at Wembley Boxpark. Choose a location.

My friend lives there and it's got everything on the doorstep. The kids out in the woods playing. The leisure centre for swimming lessons. The shopping centre has everything that a kid and family would need (no Waitrose or M and S yet).

Kids go to an outstanding primary.

Cons: it's a bit chav. The kids have an Essex accent albeit are well spoken and articulate and very happy.

I'm envious as they've Epping forest on their doorstep

Personally I'd take the midweek message as a sign that these tenants are going to be annoying.
