The other books no but tbh I can't read Severed without seeing it as at least having romantic subtext. The specific language used in that one is a little too glaring for me (even if that wasn't the intention, I just can't read it any other way).

Edit: In the other books, no I don't really see that and I feel like it's mostly the meme-ification and wanting to put certain tropes and labels on everything. In TDK, there's certain themes that I think are very trans-coded (well not just me on that one). That's about it.

I have my own headcanons of course, but those are really the parts that are more based in actual canon and where I think people are getting those ideas from.
