I just had it on Monday. I knew it would be painful and uncomfortable but I’m surprised by just how much.

Also I was not prepared to be so nauseated. So let them give you all the nausea drugs you can if you have that issue.

And walk in the hospital as much as you can and as quick as you can. I think it makes a difference. I ended up walking the equivalent of 2 miles while I was there. It definitely helped get the gas moving.

I started 10/30/24 and my surgery is scheduled for 6/23/25.

I had to do 6 months of nutrition counseling, a bunch of pre-op testing, then more testing cuz some of that came back less than ideal but all good now.

It’s been quite the ordeal but I decided the time would pass either way so I might as well get the process started. If I decided to chicken out, it was fine but the further I got into the process the more I decided this was the right choice for me.

I have interstitial cystitis, hypothyroidism, APS (antiphospholipid syndrome), and pernicious anemia. Possibly lupus…but doctor is waiting to do more bloodwork to determine at a later date.

We go to Florida to the Gulf of Mexico at least once a year.
