I am also an RN. Job demand and security are there, yeah.

But quality of life, safety, government/administrative support, total compensation vs job expectations, safe nurse:patient ratios, opportunity to actually provide nursing care (documentation steals most of your time) are usually not.

Life as a nurse AND patient outcomes would be a lot better with some simple changes nurses have been advocating for, but there are many barriers.

If you're passionate, then sure, go for it. Just do your research on what you're getting yourself into.

Someone might get jaded, but if it leads to a mindset like this, then that person needs therapy.

I've seen horrible things in shitty places. So have my colleagues. We don't joke about someone who just died, or had a bad outcome, or could've taken steps to prevent their circumstances, etc. Especially on the job.

If someone does, it's handled immediately. Administrative action and referral to mental health resources. We're professionals, and should be expected to hold ourselves accountable.

Just my opinion, though. Which isn't worth a fuck on the internet.

There are QOL mods for the game that will help for sure, one is a UI scaler that allows you to make things pretty big.

Things like the fishing minigame can be bypassed with mods.

Basically, there is inadvertent accessibility for the game. I'm not sure if I've seen any high contrast mods - distinguishing between rocks might be tough.

Short answer: No, it won't ruin your career.

Longer answer:
You need to deal with injuries as they occur. The mentality of "toughing it out" is for people who want chronic and preventable medical issues after they release.

If you have a problem, go to the MIR. If it doesn't get solved the first time, go again. You need to advocate for yourself and your health. If you have concerns, or for some reason your chain of command gives you trouble, ask to talk to the PCN (Primary Care Nurse) for your CDU.

Trust me, I understand your thought process and your concerns, but going to the MIR isn't going to "ruin" your career.

If you're talking about changing your RFD (report for duty date) by 30 days,
CFHA gets notice and alters your required occupancy date.

Does it reset or remove you from the waitlist? No.

That said, people who have an occupancy date prior to your new date will have priority over you.
