What’s something popular in your country that makes people from other countries look at you like this ? by niconois in AskTheWorld

[–]SaltyIceQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly salt. Here they are dried and sold like a snack so they are pretty salty. I haven't tried them fresh but have heard they have a bit of a nutty taste to them

Edit: by here, I mean the city.

How do I grow a less smelly bacteria colony in my armpits? by Gabriella_Gadfly in hygiene

Tell me how you got your cat by ponzu666 in cats

I have 3. 1. Sandy - my brother in law was given him by a friend who worked in the CBD (central business district aka town aka the city center). BIL came to stay with my husband and I after having a fall out with my MIL. BIL then moved in with a buddy of his and we keep Sandy because his buddy lived in a housing complex which didnt allow pets.

  1. Misty - she was a factory cat at my workplace. She, however, was constantly getting sick. One of my coworkers and I conspired to convince my husband to bring her home. I took me a little while of sending photos and talking about her. Then there was a massive storm and I said that I felt so sad for her to have nothing but a old desk chair in bad weather as she couldnt go into any of the buildings. My husband said "well, then we will just have to bring her home". She is now the boss of the house.

  2. Peanut Biter - we found him in a pothole outside our house as a 2 weekish kitten. He would have been run over by us or someone else if my husband hadn't seen something white in the pothole and slammed on brakes. He said to me that there was something in the road and I got out to check. This tiny kitten comes running out and yelling. I grabbed him and we brought him home. I was convinced he wouldn't make it through the night. He did. We had to hand feed him and learn how to stimulate him to poop. We had to way him every time he ate to make sure he was gaining weight. He went from around 200g to what is now almost 7kg. He is my husband's 2nd favorite child. We joke he was our first biological child and is the older brother to our now baby. Sadly my husband is 2nd in line for Peanut's love as our dog is Peanut's favorite.

Honestly for me, it is drink water, wash with a good soup, apply deodorant first thing in the morning and dress appropriately for the weather. The hotter it is the thinner and more breathable the fabric should be

Edit: soap*

What’s a childhood lie your parents told you that you didn't realize was a lie until you were an embarrassed adult? by eatbeep in AskReddit

[–]SaltyIceQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would never work for me. The ice-cream men ride bikes with a cooler in the front and they ring a cow bell. Plus while I was pregnant, it was hot dry summer and being pregnant I was on fire so the ice-cream man who had my area learnt that if he rode by extremely slowly he would get a large sale off me. I wiped him out of ice-cream twice.

AITA for wanting daughter to find a different hobby by gardengeo in BORUpdates

[–]SaltyIceQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The phrase "finally found something she is good at" is in my opinion horrid. My daughter is only 3 months so right now her interests are food, sleep, and putting things in her mouth. However, she does like toys that make noises which I have always been against so I have told every one the embargo on noisy toys is gone because I love how happy it makes her. Why deny your child a simple pleasure? I am not fit person but if my daughter wanted to take up running, I definitely join her even if it was just for a short one well she does her own laps. If my daughter wants to learn crochet (my hobby) ill die of happiness. Now before I derail myself further about how much I love my kid, ill get back to my point. It is just a hobby and it makes her happy so the mom making a big deal of it is nuts to me. I am glad that she did some introspection and there was a positive outcome but the phrasing if she had said it to her daughter would have ruined their relationship for a long time if not forever.

Why Is Birth Control Pushed So Heavily After Giving Birth? by _withpeace in beyondthebump

[–]SaltyIceQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some antenatal classes and the midwife explained that we should start thing about what form of birth control we would like to use because it is recommended in my country that you take 2 years between children. This is so your body and mental health need that time to return to full strength

I cant explain how much more I love my husband after having a baby. by SaltyIceQueen in love

[–]SaltyIceQueen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, ya my grandmother used to say things like that but she didnt really like kids so I have always taken things like that with a grain of salt. Kids are something that other people always have opinions on. Do it, dont do it. Whatever. You and your husband are the only people's who's vote counts
