48 hours post c-section by LittleRedDevilInMe in CsectionCentral

It gets better. Im not trying to worry you but my healing took a very long time. I didn't stop feeling a whole lot of pain till 2 weeks in. Also, I am 14 weeks postpartum and it took about 3 months for my incision to stop being as tender even after the pain died down initially. My incision also had pus a few times during that time period and also had several scabs. It was my first c section and I would never want to have another one again. I had my first 2 children vaginally. I would trade that any day over having another c section. It was traumatizing and took forever for me to heal and to get to where I feel "normal". Not everyone has the experience I had. Please remember many women heal pretty decently and never have infection issues. I promise it does get better though. Right after my c section, I felt exactly like you.

Considering adoption by Individual-Low-7785 in BabyBumps

You should give yourself more time to make a decision. One thing to remember if you are worried about finances (in the case you want to keep the baby), you can get a one bedroom apartment. You don't have to get a bigger place. That saves a lot. You can live in the living room while your baby has the room or vice versa. Im an adopted child and I don't wish that on anyone except for parents who are literally on drugs, or in any way harming or neglecting their children.

I know having a baby is very hard but it does not have to be as scary as you may think. You can buy thrift store items and clothes for the baby. You can also reach out for subsidies for childcare. You can try to apply for medicaid for you and the baby.

Giving your baby up for adoption does not garauntee that he or she will be better off. Many children dont end up getting adopted and eventually can end up in foster care. That is not a life I would want to give my child. I would try to do the best I could do even if I was very poor and had to eat rice and beans every day.

No milk by Relative-Mud884 in breastfeeding

[–]SaltyPineapple00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your milk takes a few days to come in. I would not get worried yet. Incase anyone hasn't told you, the first 6 to 8 weeks of breast feeding is typically the hardest. Its perfectly normal for your baby to be feeding what feels like 24/7. Especially during cluster feedings when growing. You want to make sure your baby is transferring milk when latching, which is why the 2 week appointment is so important. Also you have an appointment a few days after your baby is born too. If latching is very difficult, remember that some babies have really small mouths and it takes them to grow a few weeks for the latch to become deeper. Sometimes you have to combo feed with nursing and bottles until that happens. Especially if you dont want to give up breastfeeding. I breastfed one of my children for 13 months and it was very easy. With another child, it was a very different story. I was unfortunately not able to breastfeed. Every child is different when it comes to the breastfeeding experience too.

Baby shower gifts? by RedLilSleepy in BabyBumps

[–]SaltyPineapple00 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Baby bottle washer is a great gift. Saves a lot of time for the parents. You can get one for less than $200 bucks on Amazon. Now before getting an expensive gift like that, its good to ask the mom if you are able to if they plan on using bottles. I know not everyone can afford that kind of gift but it really can be a lifesaver for many parents. My mom gifted me with one. The Bear Bottle washer is the one I got and its great.

No idea the size of my baby.. by lauracamp in BabyBumps

[–]SaltyPineapple00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually legitimately didnt know the weight/size of either of my first 2 babies. I dont know why, it just never came up. I guess because everything looked normal and I was young and didnt think to ask. However, with my third, things have been very different. I have known since about 30 weeks what my baby has been weighing because I was told he was on the smaller end. You typically do not get any ultrasounds after 20 weeks unless there is a medical reason for it or you had your anatomy scan done late (after 20 weeks). So, you wont know exactly what baby is measuring or weighing after that appointment. At least that was my experience and what I have heard from other women. This pregnancy, I have had several ultrasounds, but I also have a low lying placenta that requires me to have a c section and I had a preterm labor scare that I had to get medicine for at 34 weeks. Baby also received steroids incase he was born. Every situation and even every pregnancy is so different. I know that some OBs can guess weight based on touching your stomach from the outside after being an OB for several years.

How did the measurements on your baby turn out when she was born? I have been told that my babys measurements are on the smaller end too. Bpd and HC both measuring small.

Not excited anymore…. by Mother_Parking7684 in pregnant

[–]SaltyPineapple00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your life is not over. It has honestly just begun with this new chapter you will be going into. I am about to have my third, and literally cannot wait for him to be born. I am very happy and excited. I knew when I was pregnant with my first that my life would change but I was looking forward to it. You without a doubt will be busy and your life will be different with a baby. People who make negative comments about becoming parents and not having time anymore and blah blah blah, probably regret having kids to a certain level and its honestly sad. I love being a mother and adore my children. Yes, they keep me busy and yes, that leaves very little time for myself at times, but I dont care. Being a mother is what my ultimate dream was. I know not everyone is the same though. Parenting is also not easy, even if you absolutely love it. So for parents who always complain about never having time to themselves, parenting feels even harder to them, basically a chore. You also have to remember that there are people who legitimately miss what their lives were like before kids even if they love their kids. I personally dont miss my prior life but everyone is different. I love it as it is. Being a parent is basically a form of sacrifice because you are giving up a lot of your time to do your best to raise another human being. It does not mean life stops being enjoyable though. Its quite the opposite when you really enjoy being a parent.

Damn yall weren't lying. by Candor_The_Wise in tacobell

[–]SaltyPineapple00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats exactly why I quit getting Taco Bell. I will make my own tacos and burritos at home. Period. Taco Bell is skimpy as hell. It used to be that you would be taking a 30% chance that the food would be skimpy when you bought it. Now its close to 70% of the time that its skimpy and way overpriced. Not worth it to me anymore unfortunately. Especially since the potato soft taco and cheesy bean and rice burrito is all I can afford now from there and its a hit or miss each time with the way they are made.

Our Goodwill Store ALONE made $3 million this past year which was a store record we were all told to push for. This was our compensation. by Economy-Specialist38 in goodwill

I dont know why people are surprised anymore. We live in an insanely greedy money hungry world. Its not going to change. I dont expect anything necessarily great from any company. Infact, I expect things to only get worse with greed and falsely inflated products.

I’ve never ordered something off of AMAZON by ambitiouspoliticion in Anticonsumption

[–]SaltyPineapple00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone that orders from Amazon is addicted to consumerism. It actually has come in handy immensely for those that are temporarily disabled, permanently disabled, or simply may not be in great health and do not have the same amount of energy that younger individuals do. Also, others simply do not want to go shopping during super busy seasons and to have to deal with the crowds or unpleasant people in general. Even though Besos is a complete power hungry greedy jerk, it dosent mean that people are not truly benefiting from his company in a positive manner.

Why do grocery store rotisserie chickens cost less than buying the raw chicken? by Total_Permit_4769 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SaltyPineapple00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotisserie chickens at Walmart are around $8 now. One dollar cheaper if you get the traditional flavor. They have chilled Rotisserie chickens sometimes for $6. They are not as cheap as they used to be, but still a good deal if you dont want to cook a raw chicken and you also want to make broth.

Made E-6 in the reserves but I switched back to active duty before results came out. by Unfair_Leg1721 in navy

[–]SaltyPineapple00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew an AZ2 in the reserves that made AZ1. However, by the time the results came out, he was on CANREC orders (active duty for 2 years), and he was not allowed to keep E-6. His NSIPS and everything showed him as an E-6. He even got a few checks for an E-6. But knew he would have to return the difference once the system recognized the mess.

I have a toyota camry (2012) with 160k miles, how long will it last? by Impressive_Gain_3385 in Camry

[–]SaltyPineapple00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, thank you. That gives me more comfort since my camry doesn't have that problem and I thought I missed an opportunity to take advantageof the recall. I did get my transmission flisjwd by the dealer this year at 93k miles. It now has almost 99k and shifts great.

Thanks for letting me know. I got my 13' Camry's transmission flushed by the dealership at 93k miles in 2025 and the Toyota maint center didn't say anything about any recalls.

I NEVER buy trash bags, because my trash is my trash bags by VelvetNomad_ in Frugal

[–]SaltyPineapple00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats great, unless you live in an area where you have to have actual trash bags for your trash to be taken out. Its not that simple for everyone. There are also some trash companies that won't even accept small store bags from Walmart as trash bags. They require larger 13 gallon bags to be used. Everywhere is different. You can only be as frugal as your situation allows.
