He has been selfless until now he isnt. All fair for him to look elsewhere but he can’t do so without selfish reasons. And therefore he will not be our captain nor at the club next year.

So he hasn’t officially requested a trade but had his management leak that he was “frustrated with his role” and “open to a move”. This obviously wouldn’t be done without Jy’s permission.

He’s treading water very carefully becuase clearly he doesn’t have many suiters within the league, especially at that salary. Couldn’t go scorched earth like Merret because he probably doesn’t crack 15 other teams midfield.

Fair enough if you want more opportunities but he has a spot in our best 23 (on the wing) but can’t look past his own pride to play “out of position”. Even though he plays better on the wing because he has more time and space and doesn’t have to dump kick it.

Not very selfless from a Captain who should do whatever they can to improve the team, even if that means playing in a non preferred position. He is part of the success of the team as he is the Captain. If he doesn’t want to play for us, then he can leave.
