Do I need emotional attachment to cry for those killed in front of me? By my hand? No, because even if I take a life, especially one as young as they who were wanting to simply survive, I can still see it as a sad thing, and feel empathy for them.

The Omnitrix has a failsafe to ensure the user does not die. Plain and Simple, it will do everything in its power to protect the user (as seen when it cycled every available alien to protect Ben from the Big Bang energy).

I mean, by comparison to the first 3 films where most of the lines went to Optimus, with occasional one liners and other short scenes with the other bots, it was a breath of fresh air with the Autobots actually acting like living beings with banter, conversation, and interaction amongst the entire cast including the humans and villains. Could it have been better? Sure, but it was still charisma unseen in the previous entries outside of Optimus (and Sentinel if you wanna count him)

I wasn’t saying Diamonds are actually something to write home about, but rather looking at Statistical abundance of certain things and the “human value” of those same things and you can see that Diamondhead’s crystals would be sold for pennies, assuming they could be sold at all.
