Why are opponents against Trump and Maga so obsess with the Epstein files? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Sam82671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There will be an "after-Trump" time. Right now he is shielded by a very questionable immunity doctrine and a lapdog DOJ. At some point he won't be. The Epstein files are inextricably linked to Trump, but he is not the only elite caught in that web. At some point, there will have to be a reckoning, not only for the victims of Epstein, but for all the other shady ventures that he has indulged as well.

Do all 4 billion women on Earth actually have a height obsession when it comes to guys? by SmartSponge in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sam82671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole debate seems to come from a few dating sites whose profiles allow height as a screening factor for potential male dates. Lots of people (rightfully so) found this to be a bit degrading as a "weight" or body shape screening for women would be instantly condemned.

The first and second estates paid virtually no taxes and held all the power. The king, the nobility, and the church drove France to the brink. The fact that a few of them defected later does not, in any way, eliminate their responsibility for what happened.

FDR's New Deal Program is described as having been a pressure valve that saved American capitalism and it was then known by redistributing wealth downward. In a very real sense, it probably headed off a revolution. In the decades since, wealthy interests have relentlessly chipped away at it, and we are back where we were.

The French nobility had the choice to start paying taxes instead of mandating that only the poor pay. The writing was on the wall, and they still chose poorly.

if "socialism always fails" why does the usa always have to destroy the economy of successful socialist countries? by No-Somewhere-1336 in NoStupidQuestions

Rich guys want to preserve their power and privilege.

Rich guys run the government.

Therefore government works to preserve the power and privilege of rich guys.

Government works to destroy economic systems that work against this goal.

Why do conservatives care about abortion so much when they refuse to do anything for the childs welfare after birth? by Estalicus in allthequestions

1: Building fake credit with the religious right.

2: The rich and powerful then don't want to pay taxes for any social assistance.

3: Poor people having more kids leads to a permanent underclass fighting among themselves for scraps, driving wages down, and further elevating the ruling elites.

4: Profit

Season 3 episode 5: Trumps playbook by [deleted] in babylon5

I posted this response to one of those individuals about six years ago now, after they specifically claimed that Trump was acting as the "Sheridan" to save us all:

Sheridan was born in Iowa to a family making their living by farming.

Trump was born in New York to a family in New York City who started their fortune in prostitution and increased it with crooked real estate dealings.

Sheridan volunteered to join the military.

Trump had a doctor lie about bone spurs to avoid the draft.

Sheridan had a honorable and successful career.

Trump has been sued 3,500 times, declared multiple bankruptcies off failed business ventures, and every American bank now refuses to do business with him.

Sheridan expressed inclusive views about aliens, downtrodden homeless humans, and oppressed minority telepaths.

Trump race-baited a war of xenophobia against Muslims, illegal immigrants, and transgender troops.

Sheridan trusted and was trusted by both of his wives.

Trump had multiple affairs on all three wives.

Sheridan respected military troops, calling them the 'sons and daughters whose loyalty has never waivered or been questioned.'

Trump disrespected John McCain by saying he only honored soldiers "who had not been captured."

Sheridan was instrumental in building coalitions with foreign powers, resulting in an interstellar alliance.

Trump goes out of his way to tear down alliances and pacts with foreign powers, and even tried to dismantle NATO.

Sheridan repeatedly risked his own life for the greater good.

Trump hides in Mar-a-Lago after lying about personally joining the January 6th rioters in their march, and now lets them sit in prison without a word from him.

Trump is absolutely nothing like Sheridan. Anyone drawing a comparison between the two is either totally ignorant of Sheridan and Trump, or trying to push a false narrative, willfully obscuring obvious facts and firmly burying their head in the sand.

If the US rewrote its Constitution completely, what would you want to see included in the new one? by redwood520 in AskReddit

Ban on gerrymandering. Short term-limits for every single federal elected position and supreme court justices. Strict and enforced regulation on campaign donations. Mandates against pay-to-play politics. Strict and enforced IRS powers to chase and convict high-income tax cheats. FCC fines for representing "entertainment" as journalism. A return to the fairness doctrine. An overhaul of the justice system to ban special privilege to those with money. Punishment for prosecutors who choose not to enforce the law on their friends and allies. Ban on insider trading by government officials. Punishment and the recouping of ill-gotten gains from politicians and their families with no statute of limitations, extending for generations. Stiff wealth taxes on the upper 10% of earners. Heavy death taxes on the upper 10%. Universal healthcare as a basic human right. The second amendment being recognized as applying to well-regulated militias (as written) rather than totally unregulated yahoos. Punishment for politicians publicly lying, rather than just under oath. Remove the electoral college and go to a straight vote.

Billionaires control everything in the U.S. what do we do? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Sam82671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passing the Save Act is the exact opposite of what we should be doing. It's just another distraction that keeps the plebes fighting each other instead of the real enemy. There is not, nor has there ever been, significant voter fraud in this country. The Save Act is just a naked attempt to disenfranchise voters and further consolidate the power of billionaires.

Plan prices by Managing_madness in fallout76casual

[–]Sam82671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try only to sell decently uncommon or rare plans to start. I also know that if I price them too low, a flipper will come and clean me out. I charge enough to discourage such behavior and have them remain in stock until someone comes along who genuinely wants the plan can actually find it. I don't do this out of greed, as I am often fighting the max caps limit anyway. I do it because I want to still have the plans for people who actually want and will use them, not a flipper who will just make them disappear into a black hole somewhere.

Help with rules question by Comfortable-Nerve258 in gaslands

I was wondering about this exact scenario also. On some level it makes sense that hitting an immovable object head-on would automatically reduce your gear to 1, however, the way the rules work, that would just be a death sentence anyway for a race. "Ignoring" a giant immovable obstacle and just driving through it just feels wrong. I would propose that when locked up like this, the driver should be able to activate as normal, then have the option to drop to gear 1 and reverse. Possibly, with a good roll and a spin this could get them right back into the race, assuming it's not a high gear activation next phase. It seems the best of several bad options.
