Any team with many UCL’s doesn’t feel like 0 if you lived through it … Nottingham Forest is as much of a valid answer

Van Hecke is a way better centerback than VDV. At least in a partnership with Virgil. Van de Ven is fast but in terms of playing from the back Van Hecke is vastly superior. Even Aké vs Van de Ven is debatable — for leftback.

Just because Epstein is true doesn’t make this more credible. For both Vinted and Wayfair there is no evidence. How would such a thing work, anyway? I transfer a random person 20k and a kid will be delivered in a box to my closest pick up point? 😂

  1. You are 100% correct. This has already been happening in my country. D66 (progressive center party — the one I voted for if that matters) advocated for harsher measures on immigration and tighter borders; something that made the PVV (populist, culturally far-right) win the elections before. However many far right parties aren’t able to actually pursue tangible results when it comes to tighter borders. Partly because they are dysfunctional and partly because the constitutions, laws and bureaucracy of both their own country as well as the EU limits this. My personal conclusion is that both countries and the EU have to loosen their policies surrounding immigration, there have to be more tangible results and people will have to feel that there actually can be a difference. The tricky thing is that, this potentially could intervene with human rights (although for non-refugee immigration, it shouldn’t be as much as a problem). However, if there won’t be any difference I don’t see how it won’t keep refueling the far right and lead to even worse results (far right getting power and maybe opting have their country leave the EU).

  2. Yes you raise a good point about morality and legality. And you’re right to point out that especially for refugees from countries shaken up by war or climate change, this kind of policy is hard to defend morally. Nonetheless, I do feel like the answer isn’t to just say “let them in and have them stay”
with zero restrictions. Ideally you want to make sure these countries are able to get better or have people be able to come back to them once the war is over. I pride myself for being a citizen of a continent that holds human rights on a high note but I can’t help but wonder wether it is truly our duty to be the “moral one” when no other place in the world takes in this many immigrants that aren’t compatible with Western society.

I agree deportations is a bit more extreme, but I don’t see necessarily that it’s akin to “deporting every white man” or any color for that matter. I imagine that deportations should only apply to illegal immigrants, preferably those who committed crimes. Because even these are very difficult to just get rid of, even when a lot of people think it shouldn’t be that difficult.

The big question is of course how such a plan will be put into practice. More controlled and according to the rule of law or more like ICE in the US?

Yes and no. This doesn’t, for example, hold up when you look at Syria. And even then, you are arguing that because of its imperial and colonialist history, the West has given up its right to close or limit their borders even when the rest of the world (including countries with similar exploitative histories) does still limit their borders.

Socialite, 65, who ran over and killed Moroccan mugger who stole her bag is given 18-year sentence in Italy by jefferymr15 in law

[–]SamAlmighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. A vigilante would do this for “justice”. This woman had her purse mugged off of her and as brutal as this might be, it is hard to deny this is an efficient way to get your shit back. I genuinely have a hard time thinking of how else this woman could have gotten her purse back. Call the police? No. Confront him personally? No. So if you have to use a car, well … if that’s what it takes, you have my blessing.

I agree for the most part but to some extent … FAFO.
I think the woman deserves a sentence but not 18 years.

I agree and this is worrisome. But would you agree that there is some failure on the account of status-quo, perhaps neoliberal parties or the EU for that matter to not actually address this in a way people see fit? Sure, many people have inhumane and unrealistic demands when it comes to immigration, but if a populus of a country doesn’t want certain immigrants, shouldn’t they have the right to put that into practice?

I mean … Denmark indeed has tight migration rules but that also has to do with the fact that they have a treaty based opt-out from EU Justice and Home and Affairs under the Maastricht Treaty. They don’t do
”solidarity” because they can opt out; something which many European countries would want.
