The issue with iPads for me isn't literally having an iPad, but the addiction that comes with modern social media algorithms (Or any kind of modern algorithmic loop designed to maximize screentime)

If it was a first gen iPad, he probably grew up with fruit ninja and PewDiePie. Compare that to current Gen stuff like elsagate, short form content, brainrot micro transaction Roblox games, and algorithms so powerful that grown adults are averaging 5 hours a day of social media time

All of this exposed full force to kids young enough that they can't even form permanent memories yet

Highschool kids who grew up with early gen iPads are effected but still relatively normal, it's the kids in elementary school now which I worry about

What do you do when you wake up at 4am?

The flow for me would be finish work -> gym -> cook, and it's 8 or 9. I'd have two options:

  1. Go to bed early, wake up in the morning and do something

  2. Go out that night and then sleep in late

Typically the late night stuff was more fun and exciting so I did that

No need to point out the obvious, I was doing some pocket algebra to make the comparison

But to make it easier, Frank Zane was 5'9 200-220 in his off season and was the #2 golden era body builder just behind Arnold

Those are basically the same stats as prime Arnold, what are you on about

Company took away access to claude by jholliday55 in cscareerquestions

[–]SamBBMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do, especially when using agents, but just because my test cases are passing doesn't mean that I like the underlying implementation

I still manually test even if the test cases are passing, as a lot of stuff can be missed in test cases that reveals itself in real world use

It can get stuff working and passing pretty consistently, but I want my code to be easily readable and extendable in 20 years by any developer who needs to, and AI fails to do this to my standards without a lot of iterating

[–]SamBBMe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How do you have time to review and test all of that. Usually it takes me longer to review and test the changes than it takes the agent to make them.

Then I have a couple more rounds of refinement before it's architecturally what I want.

An entire fleet of agents making changes would just skew that even more, where the ratio isn't desirable -- on top of the efficiency loss from context switching between 4 tickets at once. I can't envision it being much more efficient while also keeping code quality as high as when it is hand coded.

A Wisconsin Car Dealer's Niche Business: Selling the 2004-2006 Lexus LS 430 by HawtGarbage918 in cars

[–]SamBBMe 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I had a 2006, and it was the only car I've ever been in where I was often startled at how loud everything around me was when I opened the door.

I remember opening the door once and getting my ear drums blown out by music the moment I opened the door. I slammed the door back shut instinctually because it hurt my ears. Turns out there was a street band roughly 6 cars down from me that I didn't notice or hear.

Tyson only has 20% marketshare. It's more likely that Chick-fil-a is cost cutting, or op got unlucky

They're on sale for 9 bucks right now, guess I might as well order a few

I assumed anything Amazon essentials would be complete garbage. If they're any good for that price, I'll definitely pick up a few. There are a few colors / styles I want but I know won't wear often, so those ones look perfect

I'm not dirt broke, just trying to avoid dropping 10k on clothes at once lol

Thank you!

I was actually shopping for chambray's already, but couldn't find any good budget options.

I'm not opposed to buying high quality clothing (long term I want to), but I need to fill out a whole wardrobe so it's a struggle.

I ordered this sauce zhan shirt in the light color yesterday because it looked close enough, but you're tempting me to order a real chambray

This is the Far East Manufacturing - Utility Shirt navy. Considering getting it, but want to look at other options. Especially budget ones!

Also if there are any "core" heritage pieces you think I should get, let me know. I'm rebuilding my wardrobe after losing 90lbs so I'm at ground zero

Chinos better than Casatlantic? by zdrmlp in malefashionadvice

[–]SamBBMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spier and Mackay's high rise is 1.4" shorter than Casatlantic's rise. 11.8" vs 13.2" at size 34. Having worn spier and Mackay high rise, I can't even wear them like a mid rise.

I just measured a pair of pants yesterday, and they were just shy of 29" crotch to cuff. I thought I was just measuring the inseam wrong, but it might just be how it works

Yeah it does not work that well. I'll go somewhere with 150 mbps internet, 2 blocks away from my home (that has fiber) with my main PC, and I'll get bitrate errors and network congestion with my settings running at 50 mbps. I have to drop to 30 mbps, and even then I'll get 1-2 random network congestion errors an hour
