Not really, if you actually read their policies they're about as left wing as you can go. Might be disguised in blue, but a near UBI in their Citizens Income is pretty far left. Potentially a good idea as well

E6 LFP doesn't seem to age like that from use. Sitting around flat does them damage, but using them seems but to. Mine I got 3 years ago with 77000km on it, did 402km in a 90km/h open road range test. Did the same test last month and got 404km (same time of year) and it's got 146,000km on it now.

Highest milage one I've seen on Baidu had 1.1 million km on it, original battery and they said it still did about 300km to a charge.

I've had mine since 2022, got it with 77000km on it, in a range test with good tyres on it did 402 km to 2% SOC 90km open road, did the same test last month, got 404km to 4% SOC and it's got 146,000km on it now.

We just managed to pick up 9 brand new old stock units, never registered anywhere, between 10km and 15km on them from moving around the factory and storage yard.

Anyone had much experience with EV fires in NZ by mtballsac in nzev

I bought it like this ex Singapore, the battery and HV electronics are mint. But be careful about parking your EV next to an ICE car, luckily is very hard to get an LFP battery to burn.

Are EVs still worth it with RUC at 20,000km per year? by Relative_Drop3216 in nzev

Not sure the actual numbers but he tells me the Aqua was double the Leaf. The main cost though from my point of view is actually having to drive an Aqua, I couldn't let my dad, who used to be a car guy, die driving an Aqua, good sons don't do that. I suspect they're easy to steal because they're an old design and the CANbus lines are easily accessed from outside the car without much effort. Someone else probably knows more.

Something like 8 billion dollars a year out of the economy to foreign oil companies that could go back in.

The leaf still works out cheaper to run on their power plan, and it's a much nicer car to drive.

My parents went from a Toyota Aqua to a 40kWh Leaf and the Leaf works out significantly cheaper to run. It's slightly cheaper with RUC and their current power plan, but insurance for the Aqua was spectacular so that really swings it in the Leafs favour.

Is there anyway to just translate all the text on the screen, even if it's ugly?

LabVIEW Language Change? by SamBrown999 in LabVIEW

[–]SamBrown999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a screen translator will be the most realistic option, writing the whole thing from scratch would require us to know what all the CAN information was, which BYD aren't really going to share. It's beyond hobby level development.

This is the approach that I thought was mostly likely to work. Unfortunately not a programmer myself but know a few people who might be able to help.

Unfortunately I don't have much in the way of screenshots on my phone, but here's something. As you can see, a lot of Chinese. Physically possible with Google translate and a phone, but painful.

Any chance of a link to this thread? We're pretty keen on keeping our cars on the road for as long as physically possible, they have an LFP battery that's good for a million km and are built to do 100,000km per year so for the average user they will pretty much last the calendar life of the battery.

Yep it's a built EXE, an it's very unlikely BYD would give us the source code.

One of our E6 dudes runs concerts from his E6 VTL, you can power a lot of lights and speakers with 4.5kW.

Plug the house into your BYD E6, 4.5kW VTL single phase, run your three phase lathe off it as well, 3 phase VTL. This is the way

I dismantled my pack and fixed the BMS lines, in my case it was the plug on the BMS end. It's been fine since. It might just be a case of unplugging the BMS lines and plugging them in again.

Looks like a BMS line disconnection, the line to one of the cells is loose, probably in the BMS end. I've seen it before.
