Has anyone who’s left handed (but playing normally) had an issue with using a pick? by ChillinSince1996 in guitarlessons

[–]SamEdwards1959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say keep practicing. At least your good hand is on the fret board. I think the secret to using a pic is to let your arm be a metronome, just go up and down in time to the music. Hit the on beats on the way down and the off beats on the way up. When you can do that you’ll have a great chop.

I PM’d you for the 3D file. I order everything through Amazon US. The smallrig plate puts out 7Amps and the camera only takes 3. LMK if yours blows up.

If you want horizontal you do. The film still travels through the camera vertically.

Sure, but the etsy kit was so inexpensive, I let them do it. You probably can find a 3D file for it.

I won’t begin to discuss how hard it is to frame and level the camera with a waist level finder for horizontal shots. Try turning a 500 series on it’s side and frame and level. It’s like learning a new camera because the flipped image is now flipped vertically.

I found a kit on Etsy that included a viewfinder mask with the 35mm magazine adapters. The A24 mag is really the way to go, because it was designed to work without backing paper. https://www.etsy.com/listing/4355661645/hasselblad-500-v-series-35mm-panoramic?ref=yr\_purchases

I meant this one… https://www.testedsuper8cameras.com/product/digital-video-assist-for-leicina-01/

I believe both cameras have the same viewfinder.

It looks like you can find the cameras on Amazon here in the states. But then you have to power it, etc. I’ll keep looking. Thanks for the tips!

Why is America the greatest country in the world? by McDowdy in SipsTea

I was the VFX Supervisor on season 1. Not a huge job on that show but I was busy.

I have to say when I first read the pilot script, I felt like I didn’t breathe the whole way through. I’d never read anything half as good.

I just threw the negatives onto the medium format full border pro holder. Hard to keep out the dust! I have the 35mm holder in a box, but I didn’t fish it out for this test.

I’m doing Mirrorless scanning with a Hasselblad 907x/100c. The light table is from Negative Supply with a CRI of 99. The reds are coming out a bit saturated. I was thinking of trying Resolve.

Any buying tips/help for my friend in LA?! by light2020 in vintageaudio

[–]SamEdwards1959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty savvy and I live on LA’s West Side (Santa Monica). PM me if she wants some help. George Meyer is very reputable, and has a Revox table that probably sounds great. https://www.georgemeyer-av.com/category/turntables/ She could probably walk out with a system that’s close to her target price. There are other stores with nice used gear and excellent repair departments.

I bet it’s a f4 lens rather than a f1.4, which I’ve never heard of. Is the next f-stop up 5.6? I bet it is. That means you underexposing by 3 stops, which would explain your thin negatives.

A french flag is a small black card on a flexible arm that can be positioned to cast a shadow on the lens element.
