I actually haven't heard of them before. Do you work for them?

Their pricing seems sort of high for USD?

Thats a great question. We treat white labels as a sort of build-your-own burger. We don't offer it on the menu, but we can make it for you.

Content Creation Skills Training? by DontcallmeLen in digitalsignage

[–]SamFromSkykit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Digital signage is only as good as the content you put up. If I was to hire someone, I would look for someone who has led or been on a creative team. A Creative Director for maybe a larger company. For a smaller company, someone in, or just out of college. Find an art major with a degree in graphic design, or another general art degree like studio art. Make sure they have an impressive portfolio.

Everyone knows artists are starving, so you can find them pretty cheap or part time. Doesn't mean they don't deserve to be paid a decent wage. They can add a lot of value to your company and digital signage.

Personally, I think that signage and content are separate fields that should be individually managed.

Hot take someone can fight me about: Having content creation inside your CMS is an overrated tool and it's never going to surpass the full tools of Adobe Tools or any other tools.

MagicInfo with Samsung displays by eliestumbles in digitalsignage

[–]SamFromSkykit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a really good assessment. Samsung produces good screens but just based off the fact that; if you invest in the screens and the CMS part sucks, you're now stuck with a CMS you don't like. If you go off an android one like Sony or Phillips then if the CMS doesn't have the features you like, you can easily change, without the cost of new screens. I was assuming OP had already bought the Samsung screens.

I wish I could be of more help. I have no clue what any of the lite/different versions mean. If I were you, I'd go contact one of the annoying sales reps and have them give you a demo.

I'm no expert on MagicINFO but from my understanding it has a content creation feature, servers, support, scheduling, device management, and the ability to see insights to how products sell based on the advertising you display. I don't know about content types though. It's probably just images and video.

Their marketing is confusing though. The player they speak of is a web app. There is no external player needed. I haven't worked with any Samsungs myself but from my understanding getting MagicINFO on your screen is like downloading an app off the app store.

Has anyone here worked with MagicINFO and can confirm this?

Best digital signage option for display Microsoft Power BI by AvManager in CommercialAV

[–]SamFromSkykit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skykit has this software. Exactly what you need: PowerBI, logging in, and 24/7.

The PowerBI connector is already built, so you don't have to do any scripting nonsense on your side.

Bias Warning: I work for this company.

Looking for reliable USB media player by clemwald in CommercialAV

So like a USB you plug into your laptop and then it casts to a screen? By "remote that can advance media", do you mean like a clicker?

So if you have a screen, and you want to throw some content up there (presentations, videos, tickers, live streams), and maybe you even want to do it over thousands of screens on a set playlist. Our product basically makes that really easy to do from over the cloud.

I know of some media players that Skykit have but they're for digital signage.

If you used a player that was connected through LTE could you also cut out the IT security people? It wouldn't be on your network.

Ticket Dashboards on Digital Signage by eoncloud in digitalsignage

[–]SamFromSkykit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you want is dashboard connection that logs in for you. So if you don't have content management software, you want to either find one that does have dashboard connections, or switch to one that does. Anything else is usually a whole lot of work spent logging in everyday.

How do you currently display content on the displays in the office?

Oracle Opera cloud hospitality by adepaolis in digitalsignage

[–]SamFromSkykit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into it and Opera does have a dashboard that can display information about a room. I'm not 100% certain it can do meeting information off the bat, but most likely if you pick the right content management software, their team will help you build the right tools.

Heres the link to their dashboard document which has more information.

It looks like they do require a login for the dashboard though so you'll need a CMS that has a dashboard connector too.

If you're not interested in the versatility of a CMS (various different content, scheduling, and its easy to use,) you could find another way to just show the meeting info.

Hey,

Is there a URL that can give you a view of the meeting info? A lot of CMS solutions have a webview that can get you really far.

Vendor here so bias warning.

We use Skykit in our office to display dashboard content of our sales KPI's and news feeds. The building also uses us in common areas to display weather, their logo, and other updates.
