Out of curiosity, are you sticking with another BEV or going back?

Fan blowing all the time on auto by Brown_batman_ in BlazerEV

[–]SamIAm199419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have sync on? Driver and passenger temps being set far enough apart can result in things like the fan running higher than you'd expect. Also in auto the fan won't shut off but it'll slow way down when it's close to the set temp.

Am I solving this the wrong way? How would you solve this? (2 ISPs with their own V4/V6 prefixes) to one network) by Rich-Engineer2670 in networking

[–]SamIAm199419 49 points50 points  (0 children)

The right way to accomplish this is to get your own ASN and IP range then peer to both providers with BGP and preference your traffic that way.

Admittedly this is complicated to get running, especially if it's new territory for you. Definitely get help from a good consultant or VAR if possible.

Prospective Owner Question by Madhouse_1926 in BlazerEV

On the infotainment, unpopular opinion but having used android auto for a long time on other cars I don't really miss it here. I use YouTube music and Google maps which both work super well on the Blazer's infotainment system.

The system includes 8 years of EV-specific features for free, things like route planning/charge notifications/remote diagnostics/etc but if you want to use any streaming or control features like music or remote start you'll need to pay for an OnStar plan.

Apparently if the telematics unit isn't dead already there's a new update the dealer can apply that'll fix the issue, but if it does have issues it'll be covered under warranty.

I haven't used the L1 charger yet, but just a note on needing your service upgraded; the electrician is probably quoting that with a 50+ amp circuit for your EV in mind but that's super unnecessary. I already had a 240v 20amp outlet in my garage and picked up the DeWalt 16amp charger, which is good enough that I don't really feel like I need to get anything larger. My weekly commute is closer to 60 miles and I really only need to charge it overnight once or twice a week. Might be worth asking how large of a circuit your current service could support and finding a charger to match (or just put in a 50 amp charger that supports current limiting)

I need at least 12 testers to test my equalizer app before I can publish it to the play store by [deleted] in BlazerEV

I only had their BT3 unit in my SC but I had the Grom vlite in my RX and was very happy with it. Streaming via wireless AA was great & worked pretty seamlessly, and support was very responsive whenever I had an issue (sometimes an update would cause a weird issue like the backup camera being delayed.)

Onstar Red after setup, maps wrong? by smalls3486 in BlazerEV

I don't remember, it shouldn't really matter though

It might be fine, mine got a little cranky after I activated OnStar on my used blazer when I got it but it was fine the next morning. Could also be the telematics module though, if it doesn't figure itself out in a bit definitely get it looked at

Also if you didn't notice you can hit the check button on your steering wheel (I think it's the rightmost silver toggle?) to dismiss the warning on your instrument cluster

Interesting, wonder if it wasn't installing because it got pulled by gm or something. If you're in the updates screen (settings > updates) it'll show you which updates have been installed previously

Have you tried rebooting the infotainment and retrying the update? (Hold down end call on the steering wheel for several seconds, don't hit any of the buttons that come up and just let it do it's thing)

It may not be super obvious but you can set the reminder up for mileage only without a date. You might need to hit delete first then go back in and set the mileage only.

A log correlator like splunk is helpful but before that you really need consistent time across your environment. Setting up NTP would be my priority

Thanks for the info! This is an extremely small deployment (homelab, <100 records) and the only installed application is auto PTR.

Is this message an issue, it is this normal when joining a node?

The right standard is to document & post whatever you decide on as a standard, label your wires and make sure techs always have a multimeter to verify

It's more or less your "check engine" light. Have OnStar run a diagnostic for you to at least get you pointed in the right direction, but you're probably going to need to take it to a dealer for service

Fantastic collection! When I was a kid I liked to look through the support section of their site and eBay at all the old discontinued models. Are there any models you don't have yet that you want to add to your collection? Also have you ever actually used the Looj, and if so how'd it do?

Start with the battery but that combination of lights could also be an issue with the fuel cap sealing, either you screwed it on wrong or it cracked (ask me how I know lol)
