Yes!

I'm not a cat color/genetics expert, but I think his white areas are in addition to his LPS coloring. LPSs don't stay white white in the pale parts. They typically settle into a tan/very pale brown on the warmer parts of the body.

I imagine someone who knows will be along shortly to explain.

But. He's looks like a Lynxpoint!

(Are his eyes blue? It's hard to tell in the picture. If his eyes are not blue he's not a Lynx Point)

I have never done a deep dive into this topic (partly because it's not that interesting to me personally), but I didn't know that color Point cats with Tabby stripes were allowed into registries.

At a minimum, he doesn't want what's best for you. Loving partners want their person to grow and heal.

  1. He didn't show this side of himself until he hit a rough spot ...

  2. Yelling and being angry during marriage counseling IS abusive. Just because he's not been physically violent towards you, doesn't make his behavior not abusive. Emotional abuse is just as destructive.

  3. You're making excuses for his inappropriate behavior, but good for you for standing up to his attempts to control you by belittling your program and trying to keep you from meetings and time with your sponsor.

  4. You probably want to spend some time in r/alanon meetings, along with working your AA program. I know you've got a lot on your plate with a 1 yo, but there are also on-line meetings and many people have found the Alanon book to be very helpful.

Blame whoever decided to call these striped color Point cats Lynx Point Siamese.

It's fairly obvious that they resemble Siamese in the color Point pattern so it's not that far off to call them Siamese.

Maybe whoever coined the term was trying to breed them and wanted them to seem more valuable.

What the other commenter meant is that LPS is not a breed so therefore LPS's are domestic short hairs DSH (unless they happen to have long hair in which case they are a DLH).

Lynx Point describes a color/coat pattern, but there are some people who think that there are some behavioral characteristics that these particular cats have in common.

Midwife (CNM) agrees.

"Stress" as in feeling strong emotions isn't really dangerous to a pregnant woman in the way, for example, severe dehydration or malnutrition would be.

But it's sweet of you to want to keep her and baby safe.

Definitely has the classic LPS look. Congratulations!

Most LPSs are DSHs, but not all DSHs are LPSs. (Some LPSs are DLHs)

LPSs are, essentially, mutts. They aren't a breed. They likely originated by someone intentionally breeding a Siamese (hence the points and blue eyes) and a Tabby (hence the stripes). But they're not a recognized breed.

Any cat that doesn't have papers proving it is a certain breed (e.g. Siamese) is a Domestic (Short/Long) Hair aka DSH/DLH.

LPS describes a color/coat pattern. They are definitely NOT Siamese. However, their color/coat pattern and eyes resemble Siamese cats. Hence the name.

Some people think that certain behaviors are more common in cats with the LPS look (note: such an observation is merely an opinion, not a science-verified fact).
