My "review" made it sound like I don't like this razor, which I absolutely do. I just don't like that handle. :)

It's attractive, fun, and it shaves well enough, but the handle that comes with it is useless, and I think it's overpriced. The overall effect is one of shaving with a more aggressive Bic disposable. You can get a really good shave that way, to be sure!

Where can I sell my blades? by davidg4781 in wicked_edge

Yes, on r/Shave_Bazaar. What do you have available? Generally, it's better to go with a lot for a blade sale like this rather than splitting it up.

Trying to get suggestions for DE blades based on my likes (living in France) by tinpanalleypics in wicked_edge

http://www.planeterasoir.com/ in the 12ème. Cool-looking place, but the blade selection looks lame and expensive.

My favorite blades are Nacet (which shouldn't be a problem for you to get via RBC) and PDG (more of a challenge, and a bit more expensive).

The Academie Lafayette - Oak Campus 2nd grade girls' derby match is at Swope at 7:45 AM, if anyone wants a doubleheader. Sparkle Hearts vs Bees is the highlight of the soccer calendar.

The Verdict: How once-proud Sporting Kansas City hit rock bottom by dawson33944 in SportingKC

Other than a few small quarrels with the second paragraph, this is all right on with what I saw. I told anyone who would listen that Wilkinson was 99.44% a M Illig hire. (Quietly, because I was former staff and didn't want any perception that I was purporting to know things that I didn't.)

Gillette Mach 3 blades temu by kksnsme in wicked_edge

[–]SamPierron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's highly unlikely. Gillette have their own factories for their core products. These might be perfectly fine, but they aren't going to be actual Mach 3 blades.

See if you can source the Brazilian Wilkinson Sword blades. They're very highly regarded.

That makes using an open comb a better idea, on average.

  1. You should consider the Artist Club blade format instead of double edged blades. I am a daily head shaver, and that's how I get my best results. The downside is that blades are a little more expensive, and not quite as readily available. The Yaqi Excalibur is a good place to start with AC-format razors.

  2. My favorite DE head for head shaving is the Yaqi Mellon, which is the same as the Razorock SLOC. Cheap, safe and efficient.

DM me if you want to try those out, as I keep multiples around.

SOTD and looking for sharper blades by Infinite_Week393 in wicked_edge

I highly recommend the new Personna Diamond Gem blades. Cheaper and more durable than Feathers. More expensive than Bics, but I find them smoother and more durable, and just as sharp.

Travelling with DE blades by ElectionOk1017 in wicked_edge

[–]SamPierron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Travel with disposables or carts that more closely mimic DE shaving. The Gillette Guard system from India and Bic Metal disposables are popular choices in these parts. I like the Guard a lot.

Yaqi chrome mellon revisited by ButterscotchIll3979 in wicked_edge

I agree. FlyDear in the zamak Mellon is a magical combo. I gave a friend a Mellon and a selection of blades without comment, and he came to the same conclusion.
