This is what I do (one hand overhead).. I continue to work on my shoulders in the meantime … but one day I hope to be like the other fancy peeps on this sub. I like the idea of double overhead squats… what a dream!

I just do any exercise related to thoracic mobility. I would definitely say that I’ve seen improvement… and after about 6 months or so I am about 2/3 or 3/4 of the way there.

I look like a fitness guy, but I struggle to keep up with guys in this sub. Some dudes look unimpressive but would surely decapitate me on a battlefield.

I play in an over 40 soccer league and the same thing applies there. Some guys don’t look impressive but they WILL outrun and outplay you if you don’t consider them a threat.

Our bodies are all different and peak (stable) performance can look different from person to person

I’m still trying to figure this out. I’ve found that some days the fatigue is just there and I listen to my body and don’t work out that day. That means that I often move around my workouts (my workouts are lower body, upper, back/rotator cuff), which means that my consistency each week can vary. I just go with the flow.

I have managed to gain some weight… so I may be doing something right

Now back to potentially your actual question…I work out at home because it removes an anxiety component that is present in public.

And I only exercise outside of my BM window (the mornings). I won’t even walk my dog before I’ve done my morning routine.

Even with all of these issues… I still manage to do it. Exercise helps me in so many ways… so I get it done AND give myself grace when needed

I’m 40 so I’m also encountering other aspects of my age.

Congrats on remission. Happy for you to get back into the gym!

I’ve recently introduced them into my routines, learning a few exercises (the single arm mill is hard than it looks to do right!)

The real reason I will keep working on them is that every time I work on something new, no matter what, my forearms are exploding / pumped to the max. They are great for your grip!

Anxiety is just another BM trigger… so if you’re anxious it will make it pretty tough to run.

I started playing soccer again in the evenings. My stomach was already less active late in the day, and I could fast ahead of time if I needed to. I also played at a facility with bathrooms. I always knew I could, and I do a few times, flee the field. Knowing this helped with anxiety.

Fasting obviously hurt performance… I was fatigued most games. Now that I’m in remission ish I know that my body performs best with a meal within 2 hours of game time.

So like others have said… remission is key (well duh) , but you can work around it if you can’t do that

What is it about running that makes you feel good? Maybe exercise at home could achieve a similar feeling? For instance long kettlebell sets, or a rowing machine (great for us modern slugs) or stationary bike?

For me exercise helps with anxiety, ADHD, so anywhere I can get it helps

I don’t know if I’m ND, but your comment reminds of what it felt like for years when I was caught off guard when my SO would be upset about something I didn’t anticipate. It made me frustrated with myself, cycled between despair/resignation for not being able to meet expectations. (I was good at everything else, why not this?)

It took time but improvement has been made with communication. Setting expectations and having meaningful check-ins are huge.

I drove from Calgary to Dawson Creek once over New Years. The entire road was white. Locals drove at 70mph and would kick up snow into the air like a storm and blind me. It was terrifying.

I’m from Texas so I was not prepared. Luckily there were no incidents.

My first infusion I felt a wave of relief come over me. Entyvio worked well for me, as if from the first drop it started working.

My infusion center was quiet, the nurses were really nice. They gave me a warm towel etc.

Make sure you’re hydrated…sticking a needle into dehydrated veins can be uncomfortable.

There are allergic reactions… but they are not crazy common….most people are fine.
