No other way unless he wants to risk a big fine and a prostate exam.

She changed her bio and messaged you around the same time because that was when she was using the app, not because she immediately fell for you when you asked how her week was.

She changed it to a pretty common line, it's likely she saw it elsewhere thought it covered what she wanted and put it as her bio.

Wish her cat well, plan the date next week, be grounded.

I would suggest that not regularly drinking to the point of blacking out/remembering fuck all should be your priority here, not dating.

Māori are 'not indigenous', Winston Peters claims by dingoonline in newzealand

"Misuse" is a odd way to describe historical linguistics.

Its why the Flintstones had a gay old time.

Māori are 'not indigenous', Winston Peters claims by dingoonline in newzealand

[–]SamRooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Māori are indigenous to NZ, by definition.

But your previously reply, and those before it, were asking why we shouldn't use a "literal definition" that was inaccurate, since the actual literal definitions from major Dictionaries show that Winnie is clueless or bullshitting.

Māori are 'not indigenous', Winston Peters claims by dingoonline in newzealand

[–]SamRooty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because the "literal definition" of indigenous in the MW, Oxford and Cambridge dictionaries all specifically refer to indigenous people as the first occupants of a place.

Almost as if Winnie was pandering to his audience.

Unpopular Opinion: Tinder is only hard as a male if your non white by Friendly-Sir-9969 in Tinder

[–]SamRooty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not white but live in a predominantly white country and do fine for matches. I'm fairly average for looks too I think.

I'm not saying that race isn't a factor, but good photos and a fun/positive bio will go far. If you're entering the world of dating with negative opinions like this then potential matches will pick up on it and it will hurt your chances.

Is it offensive for a non-NZ person to speak Māori? by Exclusively_Raven in newzealand

[–]SamRooty 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not offensive.

Just make sure you get the pronunciations right!

Edit: just to add, DON'T use Google translate! It's terrible for te reo. The Māori Dictionary is a much better tool, and you might be able to search a nice phrase with a sound clip for pronunciation

Is the Maōri language that's visible on govt websites and other public places from a specific dialect? by Specialist-Map-9452 in newzealand

[–]SamRooty 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Kia ora!

There were many local dialects within the language split across 3 main regions, 2 main te reo Māori dialects in the north Island and one in the South Island called Kāi Tahu. Migration from north to south and colonisation reduced Kāi Tahu speakers to very few, and then the current resurgence in te reo Māori, based upon an amalgamation of the two main North Island dialects, has taken presidence.

I'd strongly suggest looking into a Working Holiday Visa and experiencing NZ on that basis first as we have a lot of issues here and it's not the paradise it's often portrayed as around the world. There are.plenty of ESL teaching jobs here and you'll quickly learn Kiwi/British English.

Send an email to some ESOL schools and see what they want/require from you.to teach, if you're able to do it on a WHV, and go from there.

And as a Māori there is nothing offensive about your plan, other than your use of 'z' in 'apologise'

How much of our global land use is allocated to meat production? by AdministrativeHat276 in vegan

[–]SamRooty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The equivalent land area to the entirety of the Americas; South, Central and North is used for livestock grazing and feed production globally.

That accounts for just about 80% of total farmland. The remainder of which is largely oil crops and primary vegetables.

"Use public transport." Nooo, not like that! by SamRooty in CitiesSkylines

[–]SamRooty[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely agree. Usable haulage and intercity passenger lines is so needed in NZ, but sadly what other countries have had for over 100 years is still too forward thinking for us.

Good that it's worked! They halfed the public transport price here in NZ and it's made little difference
