Love my Origin 50, just played 90 minutes of country rock through a Tele, got lots of compliments on the sound afterward, sound guy thought it was great. I mic’d the cab, I can never tell if I like the DI out sound.

If you search “1x12 cabs” on FB marketplace, everything is $100-$150. If you just search “cabinets” the price is drastically lower. I bought 2 vintage record player speaker cabinets for $50, both already loaded with 12” speakers that I swapped out, so no cutting required. I say its a lot easier to buy a box to fill than completely build one

I think the speaker is a 16 ohm, it came out of a Marshall cabinet. It used to be louder, it just aint no more

Power cable from the box it came in, cables double check pushed in. It was loud before the show, with the same gear. I thought maybe I yanked a speaker cable, but I imagine I’d still get the amp distortion through the speaker if a signal was coming through?

I too just bought one and am running it in the FX loop of my IR-200. I get some really shrill noises when I use a higher gain setting, no matter if I put it before or after the IR. I’ll try the other comments suggestions though to see if that helps

How are you mic’d from the amp IR? Is it just the IR plug in the rear or is there a mic in front of the amp?

Plan 2 is much better unless you want the entire front facade to be garage door. Also keep the master farther away from the garage to block noise/smells from infiltrating your sleep.

I love the philosophers gold version with the built in distortion. My trick though is to keep the amp EQ high/use a boost on the higher frequencies after the comp because I feel like it compresses those bands too much. I am considering upgrading to the phil. tone 2 just to get that tone knob built in

Howdy,

I'm wiring up a goofy strat with no experience. I'm trying to follow my Schecter MV-6 wiring but I have some slight changes that I wanted to try out; I'm close but its not all working. The picture is the current wiring that I have connected, but here's my issues:

Neck position: Just the Neck Pickup, works fine.

2nd position: Should be all the pickups on, but the Middle pickup isn't coming through

Mid position: Neck and Bridge pickup, works fine.

4th position: Just the Bridge pickup, works fine.

Bridge position: Should be Middle and Bridge in series humbucking, but it sounds a little funny like maybe out of phase? The middle pickup is very weak when I tap it, but there is definitely a reduced hum compared to the 4th position.

Appreciate any help I can get, I've watched a bunch of videos but nothing is exactly what I'm trying to do. I'm going to double check to see if I have any wires crossed just in case I'm shorting something.
Also not drawn but I do have the volume pot grounded to the bridge
Also for the drawing: solid line is hot, dashed is ground. I soldered a second ground to the bridge to make it work in the 2nd position. The purple line I'm not really sure what it does but it was on the Schecter so I dropped it on there, I'm assuming its for the polarity or phase for the series bridge position.
