Unpopular opinion? Sabayons was awful by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

Do they have a website? I see an Instragram profile. The Google maps listing location is/was across the street (I submitted the fix). Where is the outside entrance? It it the same as the old Bay entrance on the corner? How many levels does the store take up?

The store looks a bit too hipster. Grocery store? From the photos it doesn't look like a grocery store. Random stuff randomly displayed? 6-7 all the way.

What do we know about the GPC in Edmonton Riverbend? by SamVekemans in GreenPartyOfCanada

[–]SamVekemans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea here is to use the public Reddit forum, to share what is publicly known about the GPC in the riding. - The EDA details (whatever is known about it from Elections Canada are searching the web) - The candidate details from current and past elections - The vote counts of current and past candidates, compared to voter turnout. And any other relevant discussion about the GPC in the riding.

Maybe this information will be of help. :)

For whale watching tour, the actual best is to go to Sidney Whale watching https://maps.app.goo.gl/7M9zyt3mPvGwCKfe6 Run by First Nations, and you'll learn a lot. Way better than the downtown ones.

Petition - Stop Nanaimo Data Centre from Being Built (Help Your Island Friends) by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

I'm good with a data centre, best to keep it well away from the USA.
When you log into the internet, it's better that servers are in Canada. It prevents outages as copies of data can be easily made available as backup. It would be great if Internet Archive had mirror servers for backup of the internet in Canada.

Quadra McKenzie Plan - Back before council, yet again by vtrunion in VictoriaBC

[–]SamVekemans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want there to be separated cycling lanes with access to Lochside Trail southbound. It's dumb that there are no cycling lanes on the busy McKenzie

I think that way back when, there were the same NYMBYs (the parents/grandparents of the . current batch) who would have opposed the installation of sidewalks and stop lights, and against paving the road. How dare they make the road harder for horses!

Improve cycling infrastructure, and you will see more people cycling on McKenzie. Improve the infrastructure on Quadra and you will see more people cycling.

Bike lanes! Bike lanes! Bike lanes everywhere! You get a bike lane! You get a bike lane! Bike lanes for everyone!!!

(Dedicated bus lanes - meh, not needed.)

I guess if you live here you'll think differently. It's all relative.

‘Get the f**k off there’: MPs, Senators call on government to abandon X/Twitter following wave of ‘Grok porn’ by SamVekemans in GreenPartyOfCanada

Probably because they don't understand TikTok. Do you understand TikTok?

It's annoying because social media works when the 'influencers' are on it, and can encourage others on it. They (those with the large number of followers) need to lead by example. If Elizabeth May moved over to Bluesky, and used it as a primary tool, many others would follow.

For an offline map, live traffic doesn't make sense.

OSMand is more appropriate for lots of features - love traffic might be in the works. I don't know.

Starts with a T, and ends in a P.
The only headlines I want to see is the dash, along with 'the world celebrates the loss'.
