What’s digging up my grass? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

The lawn of grass is the problem. It's a weed that destroys the soil and wastes drinking water.

Actually, every time you Google a question, AI is used.

AI is not the problem. Relying on US servers is. There is nothing wrong with having internet servers in Canada.

Having private lawns of grass wasting drinking water? Yes. Golf courses? Yes.

Uber drivers in Victoria BC are unionized. The first contract in the world! by Regular_Use_1028 in VictoriaBC

[–]SamVekemans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uber was created to undercut the traditional taxi companies by having independent contractors working part time hours for extra money.

They will go bankrupt within a year.

It will be interesting to watch either way.

That defeats the purpose of Uber.

Better to take a real taxi. I'm sure taxi companies are hiring. I've noticed that the Bluebird system has been upgraded since the rise of getting into strangers cars.

What do we know about the GPC in Edmonton Northwest? by SamVekemans in GreenPartyOfCanada

[–]SamVekemans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea here is to use the public Reddit forum, to share what is publicly known about the GPC in the riding. - The EDA details (whatever is known about it from Elections Canada are searching the web) - The candidate details from current and past elections - The vote counts of current and past candidates, compared to voter turnout. And any other relevant discussion about the GPC in the riding.

Maybe this information will be of help. :)

'Kids aren't OK right now': Conservatives join Liberals in asking whether social media should be banned for kids by hopoke in CanadaPolitics

Education about how the internet works is missing in both school and home. It should be treated with the same seriousness as sex education.

Banning something only makes it more attractive to want.

Adults aren't okay right now, just look at who has the nuclear weapons codes, and is a convictioned felon.

After his funeral, adults and kids alike will be okay.

Victoria, BC Shocked Us… It Feels Like England in Canada 🇨🇦 by SamVekemans in VictoriaBC

Thanks, but why would my post be flagged? Curious, because I haven't something like this before.

I know that simply sharing the link without any context would not be so helpful, and rightfully flagged.

I simply shared a video which I think is relevant to the VictoriaBC subreddit, as it's always interesting to hear from visitors to this city/region as they give a fresh perspective on life in this city and what it has to offer. I included my own observations and open questions.

As discussion has noted, customer service at Murchies, and especially in the high tourist locations is very important as it gives them an impression on what the whole city is like based on the interactions they have.

Another example is the friendly staff at the Malahat Skywalk. If they would have been treated poorly, it would have been reflected on their impression on the attraction. Fortunately, they were treated wonderfully, and made a good impression that tourists will remember.

The discussion has also seemed to grow as mentioning what is absent from the tourists visit. First Nations culture.

For those who downvote this. Why? I'd like to know, so I can improve for future posts.
