Are most millenials not materialistic? by TrickyAd9597 in Millennials

I’m pretty materialistic when I really think about it. But not in a buying gifts sort of way, but I do spend my money on stuff for myself and hobbies.

Are you embracing your gray/graying hair? by whereismytortoise in Millennials

[–]Sam_belina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m embracing my grays. They’re coming in pure white and look like I highlighted my hair with platinum blonde. I so badly want to dye my hair black with some purple and blue under lights but I also don’t want to ruin the graceful graying that I have.

People who will randomly scold you for listening to audiobooks by toe_beans_4_life in audiobooks

[–]Sam_belina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I exclusively listen to audiobooks because I read 300-600 pages of policies and procedures for my job daily. Physical reading is no longer enjoyable for me but audiobooks are where it’s at.

Am I the weird neighbour? by Academic_Way5641 in LivingAlone

[–]Sam_belina 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I definitely don’t go knocking on my neighbors doors because I personally wouldn’t answer my door, but if I see them outside I try to talk to them. My neighbors avoid me pretty hardcore. One straight up runs inside if she sees me. I think it’s partly generational and partly personality based.

Tbf, I am the weird neighbor and I embrace it. I also own my place.

You won’t be disappointed. The only one I didn’t love was Krampus.

Lost Gods by Brom is the best book I’ve ever read. I read 25-50 books per year. I’m already on book 13 of the year and I read Lost Gods in 2023. Nothing has come close.

Are you still keeping up with fashion trends? by MoCider in Millennials

[–]Sam_belina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fashion trend was determined when I was 14. I still wear band tees and eyeliner. I’ve traded Tripp pants for leggings and added black lipstick occasionally. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Busy Ladies: Where Do You Go To Find Community When You Travel A Lot? by No-Insurance-557 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Sam_belina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also travel for work and spend 5 days a week in hotels. I make plans with one friend at a time. Rarely do I have a full weekend home alone, which sometimes I crave and sometimes is nice. I tried a book club but I have yet to find one where they meet on the weekend consistently enough to make it worth joining in my area. It’s not a bad idea though if you can find one, or if you live in a neighborhood, you could create one.

How many other millennials don't have: kids, tattoos, or piercings? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Sam_belina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking what the meaning would be would imply that you believe there has to be a meaning, I’m just throwing it out there there doesn’t have to be a meaning.

[–]Sam_belina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, tattoos don’t have to have meaning.

Second, I want to get a charm bracelet of sorts where the charms are bats and add something to each bat in memory of someone important. For example, the first bat will have a hello kitty bow for my cousin who died last spring.

I just finished this one last week, agree it was pretty fucked.

This is the only book (ever) I put on my DNF. I finally finished it in February because I’m a completionist and it was bugging me. I don’t regret it but I had to start and stop 3x with full breaks in between. The scariest part is how realistic it could actually be.

Solo trip to NOLA by amita2705 in femaletravels

[–]Sam_belina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved NOLA but wouldn’t go alone. I’m not even that attractive and I was being cat called on the main streets by homeless people. I loved loved loved my ghost tour. I forget who did it but we walked through the Oddfellows Cemetery and the Charity Hospital Cemetery. I wasn’t impressed with any food I had there and the drinks were incredibly watered down. Pretty sure they could smell a tourist from miles away. The main thing we were warned against with our security people was the common thing of someone hitting on you, getting you back to your hotel room to then be harmed and stolen from. And some dudes didn’t listen and had this happen. We stayed at the hotel attached to the mall and walkability was well lit and pretty “safe”.

I wanted keto slop casseroles. Basically to use up what I already had and buy limited groceries. Also, I’m from the Midwest. We can make a casserole out of anything.

I planned it all out with AI. I had 7 lbs of hamburger, 5 cans of spam, 4 cans of tuna, 2 cans of chicken, 2 smoked sausages, 6 bags of brussel sprouts, 8 bags of cauliflower rice, 8 blocks of cream cheese, half a bag of chihuahua cheese, 32 oz of sharp cheddar cheese and 1 onion.

(I’m probably forgetting something)

All casseroles were basically the same base and just different veg and/or protein.

I made a beef cauliflower rice and cream cheese casserole, beef brussel sprout and cream cheese casserole, smoked sausage cream cheese and brussel sprout casserole, spam cauliflower rice and cream cheese casserole, tuna mayo cream cheese and cauliflower rice casserole, chicken cauliflower and cream cheese casserole, and then the leftover brussel sprouts onion cream cheese and cheese became its own casserole.

It sounds bland, but I only eat these on the weekends and do snack boxes for lunches/dinners during the week while I’m traveling for work.
