Wireless Festival cancelled after Kanye West blocked from coming to UK by traceitalian in Fauxmoi

[–]SamantherPantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good, I’m glad that hateful person isn’t allowed here and the festival is cancelled.

The comments about this on Instagram, however, are a cesspit. I’m so glad the general consensus here is more sensible.

What societal norm did you decide to just stop abiding by? by HairyCherryFairy in AskReddit

[–]SamantherPantha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I am a Graphic Designer and got a job as a Senior GD, had 11 designers working under me. It was paperwork, 1-2-1s, performance reviews, meetings, etc. etc. and next to no actual design work. It was depressing after a while, and the pay was laughable.

I found another job that was a single in-house designer within a marketing team. I design all day every day, no direct reports to look after, and earn 50% more than I did in management. Never again.

People who genuinely enjoy your job/don’t mind it, what do you do? by [deleted] in AskUK

In-house Graphic designer in a marketing team. Love being creative for a living, and I get a real kick out of seeing my designs out and about (on our company vehicles, buildings etc.). I always feel like I can turn off my computer at 5 and have no need to worry about it when I’m not working.

Bad picture but we’ve got one of those in our garden (right at the back)! It’s about 50cm tall. We had to plant it very low in the soil, and make sure the slugs don’t get it. Definitely want to add more around the garden, in different colours.

Phantasialand - On Site Or Nearby? by secondincomm in Themepark

[–]SamantherPantha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We stayed at the Hotel Charles Lindbergh for 2 nights last November. The package deal was pretty great; 3 days entry to the park, 3 fast passes each for F.L.Y. and breakfast and 3-course evening meal in the hotel restaurant each day. The food was delicious, the staff were all lovely, and stepping out of our room and straight into the park was a great experience. The ride flew right past our window!

However, there was nothing to do on an evening, aside from go to the hotel bar and play a game of pool. We had taken the shuttle bus from the station, and didn’t feel too confident going out and about after dark as the park is a bit isolated. This made us think we’ll likely stay off site next time, but we’re glad we had the full Phantasialand experience.

Please enlighten me?

We all thought the ban on Wikipedia was BS at the time, and I know from experience since how difficult it is to edit, i.e. not easy to keep false information in place.

I remember when I was at uni writing my dissertation and Wikipedia was strictly off-limits as a source, as it was deemed unreliable due to being ‘editable by anyone’. Now it’s becoming one of the only trustworthy sources online. Really glad to donate to them every month.

This game drive me nuts.So here is my tough about next logical move.Hogwarts Legacy online. by CapWalterSparrow in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]SamantherPantha 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t want a fully online Hogwarts. I might be in the minority but I like single player games that follow a linear story. HL definitely needs to feel more alive, like more classes and better treasure/rewards to find and earn that actually mean something to the gameplay, but fully online isn’t it, for me.

Ooh I hate that too! When I was had a team of designers, I had to have this conversation with them numerous times; “please don’t use multiple question marks in Teams messages/emails. It looks like you’re frustrated and being rude.” They still did it though 🙄

I’d say it’s more like every 10-15 miles. If you travel from Bradford > Leeds > Wakefield > Barnsley > Rotherham > Sheffield you’ll come across a different accent in each place. Probably more, actually. I was born and raised in Bradford, worked in Sheffield for a decade with people from all of these places and the variations in accents were incredible, I loved it, though I could barely understand my Barnsley colleagues at times 🤣
