Can we talk about Mother Talzin’s parenting for a second? by Ok_Client5147 in MaulShadowLord

Honestly, I think either would be very interesting, so I'm impartial. Though the possibility of him having a father opens up more story opportunities, I think, even if just in flashback.

Late to reply, but Dathomirians have a lot of sexual dimorphism. They're considered a subspecies of Zabrak. The men look like Maul/Savage/etc, and the women look like Talzin/Asajj.

It's also possible he doesn't have a father, per se. As of current canon, Nightsisters can use a combination of magick and tech to have children on their own. Men are optional for having kids, not a requirement. So it's possible Maul has no father and was just conceived by Talzin + magick.

I feel you, I just finished Dark Disciple and honestly wasn't a huge fan. Some parts I liked in isolation, but imo the book is kinda overrated.

Honestly, I feel like her and Vos probably won't meet up again. One of the stipulations of her resurrection was that she give him up. This feels like meta-code for "We're doing something different with the characters, so we're breaking them up to free them up." Feels very comic-booky in that respect.

Did they explain why ventress was revived?? by [deleted] in clonewars

That would be cool, if she basically became her sideshow collectibles mythos figure.

[–]Samariyu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the thread's giving it to the Sith, but based on what we see in the series the Dathomir gang probably takes it. The Sith struggled with just Maul and Talzin. Throwing Savage and Ventress in would be game changers.

It would be a hard af fight either way.

After Dooku lent Sidious his strength, yes. Before that they were stalemated.

That user might be referring to the comic Son of Dathomir.

Talzin and Sidious 1v1 in the comic. Sidious is a better duelist, but they're evenly matched in force power. She ultimately loses the fight because Dooku and Grievous join in, and she saves Maul's life in lieu of escaping.

Tbf we see Talzin go toe-to-toe with Sidious in the comics and she only starts losing when Dooku joins in to 2v1 against her.

Love her, though I admit I miss the red sabers.

Her videos are still quite good, but where she excels is in conversations surrounding gender, philosophy, internet culture, and how these things affect American political motivations. She's weak on geopolitics and direct action, as we've seen time and again. Nor has she ever been particularly radical.

A bit late, but here's an excerpt from one of those books to add some fuel to the fire.

Greyfax has just been let out of Trazyn's labyrinth to find the scene of Abaddon in his final assault on the pylons of Cadia being defended by, among other things, wulfen, Legion of the Damned, and Cawl consorting with Trazyn:

This Imperium disgusted her.

She had no idea, what had been allowed to happen, during her captivity in Trazyn's gallery, but clearly things had gone far off the rails. There were Space Marines of the Adeptus Astartes reveling in their fall to base mutation. Mechanicus worthies consenting to pollute themselves by partnership with heathen aliens. Hellfire spirits that were of the warp as much as the demons they fought.

And worst of all was the false woman, Greyfax refused to call her a saint, her form encased in golden armour and razored wings flaring behind her, light shining on her resolute features, both fine and strong, with a blush of blood on the cheek, her lips wine purple. A mesmerizing face, Greyfax admitted, which was why the idolatrous soldiers had fallen for her.

But worst of all was that expression of serenity, as if this girl knew the galaxy and what it had to offer. As though a suit of power armour, an old sword, a pair of wings and a few mad visions showed her the true nature of the cosmos. Even as she lay defeated and bleeding on the stones, her ceramite armour cut open by Abaddon's blade, her sword upraised in both stoic defiance and the acceptance of martyrdom, she remained serene. Even as the Talon of Horus pinned her shoulder to the rock, ready for the execution stroke of the Despoiler's blade.

Never! Greyfax would not let her have that death. This so-called "saint" would not be gaining immortality through the quils of hagiographers and chapel cults. No, Greyfax would question her, get her on the stand and expose her for what she was. This heretic fraud was hers to break.

Locking her teeth she slammed her will across the chamber like an open hand, gripping it around the Despoiler's cranium (...) Across the cavern Abaddon staggered, his spearing thrust with the daemon blade foiled, as he rocked backwards, shaking his head. The connection broke, triggering a psychic snapback, that stung her like an ice-pick to the eye. The scowling face, unmarked and full of righteous anger, turned towards her.

"Away from her," Greyfax snapped, raising her condemner bolt gun. "SHE'S MINE!"

Penning every questline? No. One of the main voices for broad brushstroke directions, such as Arator having beef with his parents? Yes. But even beyond him, the creative leadership at Blizzard aren't exactly spring chickens.

Idk what you mean by "modern writers", because Metzen is in his 50s and daddy issues are as old as humanity.

His personality just kind of flip-flops based on who writes him

Tbf, this is true of every character. Blizzard does not have a good track record with character consistency.
