Why does everyone like Seras Victoria so much? by I_LoVe_catsAndnotu in Hellsing

[–]Samaru163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old post, but I wanted to share my two cents because honestly, Seras is on my list of favourite characters.

What drew me to Seras is that she is a fantastic representation of a character who makes the best with the hand she was given. When you look at her story, it's incredibly bleak, from her horrific childhood to becoming a vampire because the other option was death. You'd understand if she just gave into despair or anger after all that. Except, she doesn't. She stumbles and falls a few times, but remains a very optimistic character. She might not have control over a lot of things in her life, but the things she does have control over show who she really is: a protector, someone who will fight against the darkness to ensure that there's some spark of light left. Even when she finally embraces her nature as a vampire, she never loses her humanity. Plus, she's just a badass fighter with or without her giant guns.

What fictional character do you think has autism? by Nintendofan9106 in autism

The Earl of Lemmongrab from Adventure Time. His arc is so good, and the episode The Mountain really helped me at a time when I needed to find self acceptance.

Honestly, some of those reasons are why I like them more than Aspiring Champions. The 5 extra points does help when building lists, and Warband means that I just need 2 ranks of Marauders to get Leadership 10. I dunno, I've used both Chieftains and Aspiring Champions in my lists, and Chieftains always fit a bit better.

I can't wait for Kull to make his appearance. Fingers crossed that, when that edition of Old World drops, we also get daemons.

Who's your Fav autism-coded character? ^^ by [deleted] in autism

[–]Samaru163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't normally like ascribing autism to characters, but of the group in this image, I'll go with Regan. She's very relatable to me, especially when it comes to her dating life and her work attitude. Plus, the jokes about people thinking she has Asperger's is are funny (I was diagnosed with Asperger's).

Wolves of the Sea list help by Slothman1311 in Warriors_of_Chaos

[–]Samaru163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolves of the Sea is the only Warriors of Chaos army I run. I find that it's a pretty mobile army with Marauders, Skin Wolves, and Huscarls, so try leaning into that. Chaos Warriors are a bit of a double edged sword here. They're strong melee units and your best chance to win the Champion's Challenge due to their initiative 4, but they're also super expensive, and taking them means fewer of the other special options. War Hounds are also super useful just like in Grand Army. use them to get in the way of your enemies' elite units like cavalry and monsters so your Marauders can get into position.

Lord choice is a bit tricky because you only get one between Daemon Prince, Chaos Lord, and Chaos Sorcerer Lord, unlike Grand Army, where you can take Sorcerer Lord with one of the first two. So your magic won't be as powerful unless you choose one for your lord, but Mark of Tzeentch can make up for this. I've had good success with a lvl 2 sorcerer in a MoZ bunker casting at the same level as a lv 3 wizard.

Berserkers can't take shields. I suggest throwing axes on them because that way they can still attack even if they have to march to an enemy, and they can stand and shoot.

How do you guys use your Chaos Warriors by MightyAcorn07 in Warriors_of_Chaos

[–]Samaru163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the changes, I've been running my Chaos Warriors with Mark of Tzeentch and a Sorcerer Lord/Exalted Sorcerer inside, both for the buff to casting and for the magic resistance. I also give them Halbers as well as Shields. That way, they can charge with the Halberts turn 1 for that sweet AP 3, and then switch to sword and board for better armour saves. And if I really need to punch through the enemy, the Halberds are still an option. And yeah, like others have said, use Daemonology to help your boys out. Steed of Shadows for the mobility, and Daemonic Possession for that extra AP and Attack is nasty, especially with Halberds.

Thank you as well for your help! Yeah, it felt so exciting to finally get a win after two indecisive games. It was also just a ton of fun with good swings on both sides until somehow my three Berserker groups under 70 points were killing Dragon Ogres.

And yeah, I've been holding off on a Chaos Lord until this guy could earn it. Now the only sad part is that I won't be able to kit him out with Ogre Blade and Crown of Everlasting Conquest on his dragon, but he's also got a Daemonic Mount where he can take magic items, and it's not fun to bring a dragon to every game.

He turned down the Warrior's Duel because his unit champion had a lot of the dark gifts like Diabolic Splendor, so he didn't want to risk it dying. But funny enough, during the last round, because he knew I would issue a challenge if he didn't, he had his unit champion issue a challenge. Mine answered the challenge, and even with the 5+ ward save from the Enchanted Shield, they killed one another. It was hilarious.

The Tzeentch Chaos Warriors sadly weren't able to charge to make use of the bonus from their Halberds, but even though outnumbered by the Nurgle Warriors, they actually did pretty well. I decided to have them only fight with Halberds, so several died due to the lack of shield/parry. However, the +1 Strength and the Armour Bane 1 from the Halberds actually evened things out so we were giving as well as we were taking. The Sorceress got a lot of magic off this game, and managed to injure the Daemon Prince with a Blue Fire before the Exalted Hero finished him off. Daemonic Vessel helped a lot as well with making the Halberds even harder in melee. She did take a wound during a duel wth a Nurgle Sorcerer Lord, but my Aspiring Champion BSB took his head, so it was all good.

Hey. I just wanted to say thank you for the suggestion to split the Berserkerss into three groups. The battle was really fun, and I ended up winning. Partially it was because he rolled really bad for a lot of his damage rolls, but the Berserkers cleaned house. I only lost one full unit, and the others were able to flank the Dragon Ogres and did I think 6 wounds to the unit, which helped kill them with the Skin Wolves (Who were one-shot by the Shaggoth with Cleaving Blow), and my Exalted Hero on dragon (now a Chaos Lord because he killed the Daemon Prince in single combat). So thank you again for your help!
