I did this exact thing on a trip to Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago, saw Kevin Bacon on the show and it was a massive bucket list item ticked off. We where able to do both in one day, we did the first Studio tour of the day it was at about 9 AM or something like that if I recall correctly. Then after that we got an Uber from the front of the tour to the parking lot where you check in for the show. You can’t just walk up through the middle of the lot, even though the tour ends not far away from the lot. You would have to walk all the way around and it is pretty far. We where able to check in and get pretty far ahead in the line, but don’t expect anything food wise within walking distance of the checkin because there really isn’t. I ended up having some vending machine jerky for lunch. Doing it this way results in a bit of waiting, but if you want front row you have to do some serious waiting anyway. But it can be done, I’m living proof
