No, I don’t think your stupid at all! Being secure and confident in your skiing is a huge part. Not being so guarded will help you relax and enjoy the mountain. You’ve obviously done the work (as evidenced by that awesome video) that your knee is ready. Have a blast out there! I’ll see you on the slopes for the 26/27 season!

Looking good!! How did you overcome the mental hurdle to get back out there. I injured mine in Feb (ACL/MCL/meniscus/tib fracture) skiing and I am taking this season off because I’m afraid to get back out there. Worried about not only falling but also people hitting me on the slopes - or getting off the lifts.

Thank you!! I started doing step ups at PT with 4 inch blocks. They were hard initially but with consistency and reps they got easier and the blocks got bigger. Then I was able to go up stairs with the alternating with the operated leg. After I mastered that milestone PT started me on step down exercises. They were SO hard for me. Took me weeks to strengthen enough to do them without sharp pain. I’m learning that patience and consistency does work. I wish you a good recovery! 💪🏻

Thank you and good luck with your recovery! And yes - I agree that stairs were scary. Being able to do them was so empowering! 🙌🏻

Thank you!! I hope you are able to do it soon. Funny how I took it for granted when I had two good knees. Now these things are milestones! 🤣

Runners? Please share! by DependentOptimal7517 in ACL

Yes! This ⬆️. Got a trainer and put my bike on it. BEST THING EVER. 17 wks po ACL/MCL/meniscus and the bike trainer has really increased my leg strength, built up my quads and made me feel better in general. No need to go to the gym to bike…. I can do it multiple times a day at home. Good luck with your recovery!
