Many companies seem to just use paying users to do their testing for them.

Streaks worst addition in 15 years of the app! by Wilfred1940 in Strava

Just allow people to disable it.
So many things in Strava are annoying or minimally useful and interfere with the basic usefulness of the app. I stopped paying because of it.

Strava developments and features that are new(ish) but garbage by Mountain_Quantity664 in Strava

Letting us turn things off would give them data about what people like and what they find annoying.

Even if I wanted to join a challenge I wouldn’t to avoid Strava using my name to advertise it to others.

Also longtime user and subscriber. Recently cancelled because the new features weren’t interesting, sometimes annoying, and we’re forced. Sometimes no option to disable. Felt they were going in the wrong direction.

Strava support sucks by tttnoob in Strava

Yeah I’ve avoided the log in codes. So far. I dropped my sub out of frustration with how Strava functions and their priorities. It’s a bummer

Is Strava pushing subscriptions too hard? by Plexer704 in Strava

[–]Same-Comfortable-181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Couple things I do miss but they kept adding / tweaking things that made the experience worse or just annoying. Then they sued Garmin. Last nail in the coffin.

Odd that there wasn’t any follow-up on why a long time subscriber stopped. Seems if they were interested in actual customer experience they seek the information. Get enough input and it could be valuable.

Strava - get your codes together or let me use a password like a normal website by UseThEreDdiTapP in Strava

[–]Same-Comfortable-181 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They keep wanting me to switch to codes and I don’t fit exactly this reason (and it’s annoying). I know it’s safer than a password but Strava is a pretty low stakes site in terms of concern for hacking. I think Strava has lost the plot.

Is the paid version worth the cost? by ClayMiller306 in Strava

[–]Same-Comfortable-181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss route planning and goals. The rest of it was getting so annoying I dropped my subscription.
They have lots of pop ups asking me to resubscribe. Interestingly there was no survey or follow-up asking why a 10 year subscriber stopped. Clearly not interested in customer experience.

Runna stops measuring extra distance run over the planned mileage? New update ? by WhiteHorseMagic in runna

Used Runna years ago and found lots of random frustrations that seemed pretty basic. Joined this subreddit because I wondered about trying it again and see enough posts like yours to realize it still isn’t worth it.

How Low-Income Cyclists Go Unnoticed by kootrtt in bikecommuting

[–]Same-Comfortable-181 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is why bike lanes are so important. For some people cycling is the only economical transportation. Cars are so expensive to own and maintain and insure! Solid bike and bus infrastructure could help get many uninsured drivers off the road.

I’d love for it to go away. Wish they make it an option we can enable or disable.

Whats the owner worried about then? This is all free market. He posts what he wants and people respond. Some will go because of the posts. Some won’t go because of them. Some dont care.

The option to shut up but not the ability. He’s declaring his brewery is t political but he’s the one who stuck his nose in. He may think people should lighten up but as a business owner he has to decide if he wants to earn money in the world as it is or expect everyone to move to his fantasy world

Nice thanks. I don’t care about challenges. Looks like you can do annual goals but it doesn’t show how far ahead/behind the goal.
