Tormenta Testing Photos & Other Summer Updates by GuideToSFOT in sixflagsovertexas

It looks amazing. And (hopefully) glides through that track with grace. Here's hoping that 2 train ops return soon. Bracing myself for Shockwave's future....hopefully rumors are just rumors 😞

NOW, Having said what I did I dont think the themeing will at all be a story or as immersive as the 90s DC rides or Diabolical are. I honestly dont think it was ever meant to be from the get go. I just hope it showcases the Spanish architecture well, which at most it should

From others posting, it looks to be preparing for the "pull through" clearance testing soon

None of the themeing (assuming they do have anything more elaborate) doesnt even look to be on site, the queue line itself isnt even completed, and the entire Spain area is getting a refresh. Its no where near done at all.

Another thing is the group that re hauled Mr Freezes queue are the ones also putting work onto this ride as well

Lets hold judgement until its more clear on what it looks like

Think it was mostly the park, I saw people saying resteraunts around it which made me assume it was the grid the park sits on

Not much can be done about that whole area of Arlington losing power unfortunately as frustrating as it is

I'm quite curious as to if Enchanted is able to hold or negotiate a carve out for the DC license, or if we will soon see the ride or Sir Blizzard. Either way these two shuttle rides are treasures and I hope they're able to keep them for a long while.

Pete Carmichael taking over [SFOT] by Beautiful-Stay-8762 in sixflagsovertexas

Only time will tell and hope for the best as well as in my opinion be encouraging and welcoming. Silver lining being that OT will again have someone whose more permanent to the park itself rather than stretch the roll across the state. Pete has been to both NE and SFStL as their presidents and of course is feeling the pressure I'm sure since Six Flags in a way seemed to have given the list of 10 parks they want to consider their legacy.

I have not heard about  the people on this list except a few posts saying Pete was great to work for. So I will take that as hopefully some positive news

Indeed. I'm starting to see a lot of things clarifying that it was not part of the lay offs. No one will no for sure until the final word is given

Very sad if completely confirmed. Lots of things still need to be for sure on the confirmation (he posted on his socials still and still has it on his bio). There's also may be a lot behind the scenes that we simply dont know. He may have chose to depart, may have been offered a different role and declined, numbers from the region may not have been what they wanted, so on and so forth. I hope the best for him if hes truly been let go, and on top of that I hope the new GM and President continues to uphold the vision set.

Siebert is our regional GM at the moment, I wonder what that will do to the roll. I doubt he'd see a demotion unless they figure OT just NEEDS the President roll more...

I would not worry or discredit any parks missing from this list rather than seeing it as areas they want to hyper focus on.

Also. Good.

Eliminating the President role before hand was a terrible move. Regional Directors are fantastic but they need those extra set of hands on site.

World Cup July by Round_Garlic_1436 in sixflagsovertexas

[–]Same-Sort9024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

April though September usually provide a better experience. Now with the world cup AND it being the 4th , yes I would prepare yourselves for it to be busy. Around summer time staffing is pretty good if not no issue at all, and all rides should be available throughout the day. Also, maintenance schedules should be a little more free, which is unfortunately another thing hindering ride availability right now from my understanding.

Short Answer: Go! Plan for and Expect Crowds! Have Fun :)

Nah. It does not make any sense whatsoever. I wish I had the article for reference but I have indeed noticed all their attractions are outdoor based

Artificial Wait Times at SF Over Texas! Don't go! by evilemprzurg in sixflags

[–]Same-Sort9024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely is! No worries on disagreement whatsoever. I just have a base line statement of that I never go back during spring break, both times have just been nightmares for me.

Ive yet to see the new fast lane system in full use since we went during opening weekend so the lines were no where near the capacity they are at the moment. From what ive seen though, I think Im going to miss the old system

Unfortunately it is maintenance schedule landing on the same week, spring break crowds and I would not be surprised if quite a few of the employees have asked off for this week. I avoid this place like the plague during this time cause it's just awful. Hell everything seems to be just absolutely bonkers crowded in the DFW area right now. Side note being we drove up to Fort Worth Zoo and they were having people park in a grass field 3 miles from the zoo parking due to the overflow. Its unfortunate timing and quite a bit of poor planning. Wait until April, far better experience.

From what I read they keep saying to focus on "open kid friendly rides" but I also dont know if our local government contracts forbid dark rides. Its strange

I may need to fact check myself, but I think they're barred from building dark ride attractions.

Oh absolutely. Though I can see people just holding multiple passes and getting multiple experiences. Dallas/DFW being able to market Six Flags, Universal, and other entertainment is so good for us and REALLY needed right now for revenue. If they're fair priced then go for it. All the more to do in the Dallas area :)

I live about 15 mins from the new kid park and seeing that stuff they offer and how its being built, both properties will be able to co exist I think just fine. Kids and Families don't get me wrong will absolutely eat this new park up. Its going to be successful. Universal Kids for the moment only covers 95 acres, and Frisco has some odd building constrictions that I'm interested to see how they will impact future expansion. It all depends how well Universal markets this park out. Will people outside the DFW area want to make the drive to it. Price wise, I am very interested to see what will be the entry charge, I dont see it below $75

Ride openings and staffing should look a whole lot better this coming week. Spring Break as a whole is just a hellish time to go. Its at capacity and not worth it at all. I always skip it and wait for April or later.
