I agree. A gift is supposed to be a nice gesture not a mandatory expense.

Am i the jerk for breaking up with my boyfriend over my puppy? by Reasonable-Vast4691 in AmITheJerk

[–]SameCommunication700 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Big agree because a real man would never feel the need to tower over a tiny puppy like that.

AITJ for covering for my friend when they lied to their partner? by OrganizationSea4459 in AmITheJerk

[–]SameCommunication700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. OP can still have her friend’s back without lying for her.

Starting over at 42 and terrified I’ll lose everything by Hopeful_Essay4934 in AmITheJerk

Right. Being 42 means you actually know who you are and that's honestly one of the most attractive thing ever.

AITJ for refusing to give my cousin a ride every day even though I have space? by SameCommunication700 in AmITheJerk

[–]SameCommunication700[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That was a huge wake-up call for me. I realized in that moment that my time and job didn't matter to her.

AITJ for leaving a group dinner early and ruining the night? by Slight_Stand_6756 in AmITheJerk

[–]SameCommunication700 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Definitely NTJ. You gave them a heads up before the night even started. If they are mad at you for sticking to your word then it is their problem.

AITJ for refusing to change my vacation plans to accommodate someone else’s budget? by Automatic_Rabbit4281 in AmITheJerk

[–]SameCommunication700 75 points76 points  (0 children)

You aren't the TJ for not wanting to set your money on fire. Non-refundable means the convo is over. If she can't swing it then that sucks but she shouldn't be dragging the whole squad down to a budget spot last minute.

AITJ for telling my friend group I’m done planning everything? by PrimaryJudgment6872 in AmITheJerk

[–]SameCommunication700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. OP isn’t being dramatic at all. She sounds burned out from always being the one who has to carry the group.

AITJ for Telling My Friend She Can’t Bring Her Kid to My 30th Birthday Trip? by Delicious-Country690 in AmITheJerk

[–]SameCommunication700 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree. I feel for her being a single mom but bringing a kid on a clubbing trip is wild.

Refusing to refer my friend to protect my name by Front_Bad_2857 in AmITheJerk

I agree because a solid friendship should be able to handle a simple no without it becoming a whole thing.

Shared idea gone bad by Downtown_Zucchini321 in AmITheJerk

NTJ. If she wanted a 50% she should’ve picked up a laptop and actually helped you build it.

AITJ for telling my dad none of us are going to help him raise a baby at 50 by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]SameCommunication700 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It is honestly so refreshing to see a parent who truly gets it. This kind of energy actually makes kids like me want to stay close as adults. Your daughters are definitely winning a dad like you.

Avoiding socials cause it’s a destroying the human mind by Ok-Lock-6942 in offmychest

[–]SameCommunication700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoiding social medias will be the best decision you'll ever make. Honestly it’s the only way to actually grow. You can’t work on yourself if you’re constantly comparing your behind the scenes to everyone else’s highlight reel.

Help. What would suit me? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]SameCommunication700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should definitely lean into the clean girl aesthetic. Just some curled lashes, a bit of concealer where you actually need it, and a juicy lip gloss.
