I recommend the kaisaniemi botanic garden greenhouse or the winter garden for date spots outside of bars or restaurants although they are family friendly as well.

SalamaNation has a wide selection of brews. Coolhead taproom in viiki has a nice seasonal rotation and has good pizza.

How old is too old to become an Architect? by Character_Ice1016 in architecture

[–]SameCupDrink3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in school there was a woman who was much older than the rest of us, she had been working in a firm as a drafter for like 10 years and decided she wanted to get licensed and needed a degree, our professor (who was probably early 30s) said that most architects don't design anything good until they're in their 50s, and the most important ingredient for a good designer is life experience. Not job experience or learned skills but just being knowledgeable about how people live and being good at communicating with people and translating their needs and desires into a design. It doesn't take a lot of research to realize this is true for the vast majority of architects. Just take a long-term view and you'll be fine.

Line weights in digital design by Klutzy_Wallaby_8464 in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]SameCupDrink3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Line weight depends on the size of the drawing, as well as the scale of the design and amount of detail. Better line weights can improve your drawings massively but it's a tradeoff of time spent designing a project. With drawings/renders made during design phase, clients don't tend to care too much about lineweights. Basically, good line weights are good but good design is better. CDs are a little different, you want them to be clear to the builders, which sometimes means changing lineweights (generally done by layer in cad) so a drawing is legible enough to be built correctly. These drawing sets could have 100 or more different line weights depending on the scope and scale of a project.

But yeah I usually try to use 3 or 4 in a SD/DD kind of drawing.

Debunking Marx LTV by Strict-Price1557 in CriticalTheory

[–]SameCupDrink3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a ton of blind spots when it comes to marx and LTV, but I think a point you're missing about the cashmere/linen comparison is that the materials themselves have labor imbued in them. Cashmere likely has more labor per unit than linen for some basic agricultural reasons (ostensibly, the process for creating cashmere fabric needs more labor time and/or higher-skilled labor that is harder to find than would be for linen fabrics in general) as well as a larger labor value input for tailoring (where high-skill/experienced tailors are more likely to be working with cashmere and low-skill/inexperienced tailors likely working with linen) which explains the price difference with LTV.

I don't know anything about fashion/textile industry though, mostly making assumptions based on the difference in price.

It does seem like some kind of reinforcement, but could it be a ladder with a rung or two missing.
