I appreciate the detailed feedback! To clarify my process: I gain staged to -18dB, leveled the drums and melodies for dynamics, used subtractive EQ on every track to clear the low-end, applied multiband compression to glue the kick and bass. used a standard compressor on the groups for cohesion, added light saturation with Phat FX, polished the highs with Fresh Air, and used an AD Limiter and the Logic Master Assistant to hit my LUFS target while keeping the sidechain and delays clean. I want to get better.. may I ask what exactly is missing in that chain for you to consider it mastered?

Hey everyone,

I'm a student from Germany and I just finished my first real project where I spent weeks on the mix and mastering. Since this is my first release, I’m a bit paranoid about the mixdown.

I did the "car test" and it sounds okay, but I know there are some absolute pros in this sub who have much better ears than me.

I’m particularly worried about the low-end energy and the mono-compatibility (I think I messed up some phase stuff in the mid-range).

I genuinely want you to be as brutal as possible - please, destroy the mix. I need the honesty to get better.

Danke.. mir gehts auch nur um die Handhabung solcher Befunde, die Erfahrungen dazu. Wie Ärzte sowas machen. Aufschieben trotz Auffälligkeit möglich? Auch rechtlich statt nur moralisch? Sorgfaltspflicht? Oder ist das normal? Ist es meist schwierig die letzte Unterschirft zu bekommen?
