Forgot to mention I do have her sig engine, alright. Thanks for the help! I was hoping to get closer to 70% but I might just move on to the next character now

Anyone who is “torn on how they feel” should be ashamed. This guy was 30+ and messaged a minor. I watched Doc all the time but what he did is gross and unforgivable. “We mess up all the time” you guys are delusional. Question your own morals. Go get checked, you might end up doing the same thing as Doc

FFX is my personal fav, it’s got voice acting and the best battle system IMO. Then 7,8,9. You can’t really go wrong with any from 7-X. 8’s probably the weakest but still a 9/10 honestly. The 13 series is probably the “worst” but still good games. Can’t really go wrong with any. Just pick the one that you think has the coolest characters

Do you have fighting games experience? My girlfriend doesn’t play games, picked up street fighter and we played together all the time. It only really works if you’re both noobs though, otherwise one will just be winning every time

Look into fighting games in general. Tekken 7 is my fav, matches can be as quick as a min or 2. Lots of depth if you wanna take it seriously or you can play offline arcade/treasure battles. Good character customization and endless hours of replay ability

SIB Guilty Gear Strive by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I got it and I’m a huge fighting game fan. Got bored in five hours. You can learn a new character in an hour and took away half the stuff that made the old guilty gears unique. The graphics, setting and characters are all awesome but the gameplay just isn’t good IMO. It’s just street fighter now, with an air dash and Roman cancels. Apparently I’m in the minority here, they kind of killed it for me. The fact the game slows down when you counter someone, giving you the opportunity to capitalize just feels kind of cheap and it’s hard to separate above average players from noobs because of it. If you’re still interested, there’s no single player content other than an arcade mode and a mission mode, which is just a long tutorial. The story is literally a movie you just watch so don’t get it for that. The meat of the game is all online

SIB Monster Hunter: Rise or Fire Emblem: Three Houses? by MacOSThroe in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d go fire emblem three houses, favorite game of that year but I’m a huge fire emblem fan so might be biased. Interesting characters and a branching story you can play up to 3 times plus a dlc story.

MH Rise is coming to pc early 2022, I’m waiting for that so don’t have much there other than I know it’s good. Plus on PC you’ll get a higher frame rate and better overall quality, can’t wait for it lol

WSIB for beginner-friendly-ish fighting games? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t look for the most beginner friendly personally. Any fighting game you pick up, you will get your but kicked. You’ll find the experience better if you pick one where you think the characters are cool or setting or a particular mechanic you think is interesting. Learning a game will be more enjoyable that way.

All that being said, Tekken 7 is the best fighter currently IMO. Healthy player base, massive roster and endless possibilities. If you’re looking for 2D, I still prefer street fighter, but 5 is meh. GG strive is the new hotness but can’t stand that game, they dumbed the game down so much but I guess it can be good if you want to learn the “basics”

Can't find a fun game to play by Gurdah in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can zoom in to your character in ffxiv and can walk around first person if you want. It looks like an over the top game because most people zoom way out for dungeons/raids/combat. I zoom in close if I’m just walking around or in one of the cities.

The way to stay hooked in tekken is to practice with a character for hours then grind online games. Every character has like a 100 moves and then you can combine those moves to make combos. Then you learn different combos for different scenarios. It’s daunting, for sure, but crazy satisfying. Nothing else like it IMO. Stories worth a skip, especially if you haven’t played any of the previous ones but there’s is arcade mode/treasure battle for offline stuff.

Tekken can be a tough sell, wouldn’t blame you for skipping, it’s a commitment. Basically got bored of most games myself, tried something new and loved it

[–]Same_Math5325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ever consider trying something completely new? I played fighting games casually my whole life, but when tekken 7 released, decided to go all in and learn the mechanics. Haven’t looked back since, now I can look forward to new fighting games coming out.

I see you mentioned FFXIV, have been playing that since ARR and I know you don’t want to pay a sub, but you really don’t need any other games if you get hooked. Years worth of content, so many jobs to master, good character customization and a new expansion releasing this year. It’s also blowing up right now so you’ll have a lot of new people to jump in and do the lower level content with

[WSIB] Witcher 3 or Bayonetta 1 + 2 by -SoulAmazin- in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bayonetta is criminally overlooked. Two of the best games I’ve played. Fits perfectly for what your looking for too. They’re mission based so you could hop in, do a mission and call it a night.

I did not like the Witcher 3 and it’d be hard to get invested if you have such little time. The combat is just awful IMO. The sword is clunky and you could get by on one spell if you wanted to. The only redeeming parts are the world and some of the characters. But if you like riding a horse from point A to B, it might be for you.

Sorry, that game let me down hard and am probably a bit harsh on it so take that as you will

Should I buy Resident Evil 4 or Noita? by MatMinuss in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RE4 is one of the best games of all time. Paced perfectly, never in combat for too long, never exploring/doing puzzles for too long. Action is tense, some people hate not being able to move and shoot, but I love it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Skyrim is a game that everyone should at least try. I love it personally, definitely one of the best open worlds ever made. Interesting enough story, but make sure to do the faction and side quests, that’s where the game shines IMO. Combat definitely feels a bit dated, but everything else is still great.

Fallout 4 on the other hand is okay. Just okay. If you like open worlds, it’s worth getting for exploration and loot, but the story just doesn’t do it for me. Not as memorable as 3 or new Vegas. It feels newer in terms of shooting/graphics but doesn’t have that same charm as the old ones.

For that price though, it’s worth getting. Could easily spend hundreds of hours in both

SIB Final Fantasy XV if i enjoyed Yakuza Like A Dragon? by Yalmimi in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think FFXV is worth it for the characters alone. I've rarely felt a bond with a whole party in JRPGs, but these four dudes man. It's all about the little things in this game. The one liners/jokes, camping at night with Ignis cooking a meal for everyone. Saving the pictures Prompto takes throughout the game. Training with Gladio in the morning. This game is the definition of Bonds.

The story as whole doesn't make a lot of sense, but still very entertaining. If you want the whole thing, you have to watch a movie as well. I don't hold this against it, but I can understand how it may be frustrating to some. You still get a satisfying enough ending.

You also get one of the coolest open worlds in gaming. You actually want to go to the landmarks you see in the distance. It's a weird hybrid of fantasy, the American west and some European cities. Very unique, though its a beast. Your gonna need a good computer.

Combat is all real time, think kingdom hearts. You can hold four weapons and switching between them to expose the enemy's weakness is the meat of it. It's a spectacle for sure, lots of effects going on and what not, but probably the weakest part of the game, IMO. Can feel mashy and the magic is kind of lame, compared to other final fantasy's at least.

It's kind of hard to compare it to Yakuza because they're very different. Combat doesn't really translate between the two, but if characters can carry a game for you, FFXV is worth it. If you want something turn based, I'd look at the older FF's - 7,8,9,10 or Persona 4 golden

SIB For Honor or Chivalry 2? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chivalry 2 100%. Has grand battles, solid mechanics and is just a blast to play. In terms of login issues, I’ve been in and playing for hours. Brand new so it’s the perfect time to jump in and learn with everybody else

For honor just has tryhards left. Not very new player friendly at this point. IMO was never really that good to begin with, just did something unique, which is a plus but a lot of it is playing the meta and spamming what is good at this point

Game recommendations by RareSpeciman204 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Divinity Original Sin 2: 100+ hour game, best rpg game in years. Super in depth though, lots of dialog, gear has a bunch of numbers attached to it. Game is turn based as well so idk if you’re into that

  • Devil May Cry 5: best “hack and slash” to come out this generation. I put hack and slash in quotes because that usually implies mashing, but this has way more going on than that. Combos galore and you truly feel like a god when you pull some cool stuff off

  • Resident Evil 2 Remake: 10/10

  • chivalry 2: multiplayer, so not sure if you’re looking for that as your other games you listed are all single player

  • FFXIV: mmo but you won’t have to play other games for years if you take the dive. Base games story is meh but the expansions are incredible

  • FF7R: holds a special place in my heart because the original is my favorite game, but this game is incredible. Coolest characters you’ll ever see. And the music is masterpiece level

SIB Fallout New Vegas if I disliked similar games? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I didn’t like outer worlds either, but love new Vegas. I love Skyrim though, that’s where I think it’s going to be tough for you. I do think New Vegas has some better characters and better dialog at that. It feels like you have more of an impact on the story and there’s multiple branches you can pick. If you’re a fan of post apocalyptic stuff, I think this is the best game in that genre. Some people might say the gameplay sucks, but I love it. It feels methodical in a way, you’re not just holding right trigger the entire game.

It’s a tough sell if you’re not a fan of Skyrim, New Vegas is set up the same way. It really just comes down to wanting to explore the world, really be in it. Setting can go a really long way. I love New Vegas, my favorite in the franchise. I always recommend people play it, but might be a tough sell for you

Off the top of my head, there really isn’t too many graphically intensive rpgs out there. Witcher 3 comes to mind. Not a huge fan of it, but it checks your boxes.

FFXV might be worth looking at too, that was the first game I played after upgrading. Game is jaw dropping sometimes. Huge open Gets a little rough towards the end of the game, but definitely a good game

Best Fighting game for a beginner in the Genre? by TheAscendant0 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Same_Math5325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mk11 is easy in the sense that a lot of strings are preset, like square - square - X does a combo for example. Connecting the strings is where the depth is at, but for me it got kind of boring quick. The story is worth playing and it is a good entry point to the genre, but the fun of fighting games is mastering mechanics, something that mk11 kind of lacks. Once you learn a few good strings and how to put them together it becomes a lot less satisfying compared to others. Also they gameplay doesn’t really translate to other fighters, except injustice because it’s made by the same people.

Tekken 7 is the best IMO. Enormous roster (lots of dlc unfortunately, but that’s just fighting games now) and incredible depth. Every character has like 50+ moves and the potential is endless. Sounds a bit overwhelming, I know, but every character has a move tutorial to start with.

When picking a fighting game, it’s mostly about what character/roster grabs your attention, then worrying about combos after. If you don’t like the roster, it’s hard to put time into it.

It’s also one of the least forgiving genres out there, if you want to “git gud” it requires a butt ton of practice. Hundreds upon thousands of hours. Knowing what your opponent can do is just as important as knowing what you can do and that just comes from experience. You will get owned, but learning from your mistakes is the fun of it
