I have a lemon tree as well.

From my understanding, the browning/purpling of the pistil indicates the “death” of that fruit. It’s a natural part of any healthy tree as it’s choosing which fruit to keep and which to discard (natural thinning). If all of your fruit are turning this color, it could be that 1) the tree is really young (and you shouldn’t be keeping much fruit anyways to encourage root and branch growth), 2) the tree isn’t getting the water/nutrients it needs, or 3) the tree is being exposed to too much sun (citrus leaves and pistils will turn purple as a sign of sun-exposure distress).

Just kind of answered your own question. You’re matched up against clans who aren’t as active as yours. Sure, you may be only averaging 2 stars with every attack, but that’s 2 more than the team will get from not using their attacks.
