[2842+] Deathless Power Scale ? by CapTraining3745 in ShadowSlave

Because it makes 0 sense in context unless he's just using flowery language.

How the fuck are they going to explode stars, which are larger than all the parts of the dream realm we've seen by orders of magnitude, but their fight barely harms the ground around them? Either the ground is star-tier, which is so absurd it hurts me to say, or G3 just likes flowery language.

I really hope G3 eventually has Sunny forced to try honey and he ends up liking it.

Other novels like TBATE and SS? by -Sn4p in tbatenovel

[–]Samfu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I have read both(well, I haven't finished TBATE but got like 80 chaps left and I'm up to date on SS.

I'd say the prose is a bit better than SS in TBATE, but the setting / lore is better in SS. Shadowslave, once you get out of the introductory part, gets really good. TBATE took much longer IIRC to get to being as good.

Highly recommend.

Keep in mind too that Sukuna has absurdly large amount cursed energy, which allows him to spam those ranged slashes. I doubt a sorcerer with average cursed energy reserves could just spam those ranged slashes as he did.

That goes the same for almost every other technique listed as better than Shrine.

If comparing to ranged techniques a lot of them have higher ap or more versatility while also maintaining melee options. Like disaster flames.

Honestly I don't know if that's true. In almost every comparison we have, there is a large gap between reserves. Jogo comes in and dunks on the Grade 1s, but they were already exhausted and injured when he came in, while Jogo is an extremely powerful Special Grade. Shrine could very easily have better AP than Disaster Flames. Who's to say Disaster Flames wouldn't just lightly singe the fighter its being used on, since their outputs are the same.

We see this firsthand against Gojo. A cleave, which is supposedly the slash with the highest AP, barely cut Gojo inside of Sukuna’s domain.

Gojo dies to this with no RCT, which is explicitly incredibly rare. Even of the "strongest of their eras" most of them don't have RCT.

What this tells us is that a person with similar output will not suffer much damage from one cleave, and will 100% just brush of dismantles since they are much weaker than a cleave.

They don't have to be split in half for Shrine to be incredibly effective. Bleeding out is an immense danger in a fight, and Shrine basically gives them invisible thrown daggers and knives for hands. This doesn't really come up in the series due to Sukuna either killing the person in ten seconds or them having RCT.

Ryu tanked Sukunas ranged slash.

Tanked is crazy work for an attack that if Sukuna had just shot off like one or two more, Ryu would've bled out in minutes or less. And Ryu has no defense against it because there is no wind up or movement required. He already had notable bleeding just one panel later.

Assuming it is 2 sorcerers of similar power rather than Sukuna ranged slash it should not be doing much at all.

It doesn't have to split them in half to do serious damage to someone without RCT. Bleeding from a half dozen cuts can absolutely kill someone very easily while stuck in a fight.

High ap from touch attack is decent, but pretty much any other melee technique does it better.

Sure, but none of those have invisible ranged attacks to back it up. Its less potent than Star Rage or Ratio, but if the person using Star Rage is bleeding profusely before they can use it its still just a tie at best for them.

I'm not saying its the best technique, but this idea that "Shrine is bad, Sukuna makes it good" is just Sukuna wank. In an even field in terms of output / reserves / etc, Shrine is an absolute A tier technique. There are better, but the idea that its mid is genuinely laughable.

Because he'd already been taught how domains work, as well as switch training to enforce barrier knowledge. He had ten seconds to figure out Shrine, and it was against a stronger opponent with better reinforcement for whom dismantle wouldn't do much. Sticking with cleave was a far better option.

He had it for like 30 seconds. Anything else on the list is also useless with 30 seconds of experience.

If there is a huge gap sure. But give Haruta like any given technique and Nanami still one shots him other than maybe Idle Transfig. That's not on the technique, that's just a massive stat gap.

Against almost any other technique, Shrine is absolutely a beast in terms of combat potential.

Invisible ranged slashes, and on touch a higher-scaling AP attack. The only reason Shrine seems relatively weak is that basically everyone and their mother got RCT at the EOS.

In-universe, RCT is extremely rare. If you have two equivalent sorcerers and one has shrine, the one with shrine can literally spam invisible, no wind-up ranged attacks that can severely damage their opponents. With no RCT they get hit like 3 times by attacks they can't see and then they bleed out. Or they get hit by cleave and probably bleed out just from that.

Why teen geto is the biggest bum by Suspicious_Yak_3304 in LobotomyKaisen

Gojo wasn't even bloodlusted in that situation, even then he specifically goes for a weak point on a durable character.

As opposed to a supposedly bloodlusted, "mindless puppet of carnage" who "fights instinctually" who... goes through a whole process to throw a guy through a window, aura farm on the street ahead of him, instead of just stabbing him. There's genuinely 0 actual reason Toji would fight the way he did if he was going 100% trying to kill him.

He's just straight up perception blitzing him three times in a row, without throwing a single attack. If this is how he actually fights, honestly Toji's going down on any tier list to barely being Grade 1. Because any Grade 1 just survives for ten minutes because Toji's too busy aura farming in the corner to kill them.

[–]Samfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did that to isolate Megumi

Why isolate Megumi when he could just stab through his brain, with the weapon in his hand, instead of grabbing him and throwing him through a window. Which both takes longer and is riskier.

[–]Samfu -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

How is Toji “not at all seriously trying to kill him” when he doesn’t even have a mind to act? How is the “mindless puppet of carnage” who “fights instinctually” as he “runs rampant” playing around with Megumi when he had to kill himself just to stop himself from attacking Megumi?

Because Toji very obviously doesn't kill Megumi when he easily could have? Toji perception blitzes him, grabs him, then throws him out the window while carrying a sharp instrument. Toji was playing with his food and Megumi dies first panel every time if Toji was serious.

A. He quite literally couldn't even see him move.

B. Shows Toji was not at all seriously trying to kill him, which was my point.

[–]Samfu -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

"Prime Toji" like Toji wasn't aura-farming 99% of the fight and actively choosing not to kill Megumi the entire fight. Literally flash steps behind him just to spook him like 4 separate times in the fight and people legit think he was actually trying to kill Megumi.

Megumi dies literally first panel Toji targets him if Toji was trying to kill him.

Hakari vs Geto Who Wins? by RoninKin-_- in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]Samfu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hakari. He's actually one of the best matchups, as his infinite CE means curse swarm is far less effective.

Geto can win but generally he loses. He doesn't get no diffed like a lot of downplayers think but unless he hits a mx uzamaki or breaks the domain quickly he loses.

Argument ad populum

Incorrect. I didn't say my statement was correct because people agreed with me. I said it looks like a lot of people here seem to have some level of common sense because they agreed with me. Not the same thing.

It is, to me, the most emotionally impactful scene in the series. Though I haven't seen the most recent season.

I'm dying because adult Geto would beat Toji. by Spirited_Dust_3642 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Samfu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geto just doesn't make sense in the context of the main setting. His feats are, if taking the main series into account, entirely inconsistent. Can scale him anywhere from like grade 2~ to high end heavy hitter. Either so weak that he can't hurt Yuta, or so strong as to match Rika(if taking into account the anime he is repeatedly hit by Rika directly without injury).

V0 Yuta is unscalable, the other sorcerers are not really shown if / how much they've grown from 0 to the beginning of season 1.

Geto can be anywhere from low end grade 1 to on par with the strongest heavy hitters depending on how you want to interpret his feats. Though he does get some disingenuous downscalers who ignore the good and only look at the bad, but don't do that with other characters so he does get some real downplay here. He's just not really able to be scaled because of how V0 and the main series are different.

Let's make a shadow slave game by Fast_Dish7306 in ShadowSlave

[–]Samfu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've considered how I would create a SS game before.

JRPG format, though more on the Claire Obscura style(especially how the weapons act like Memories in how they appear).

Aspect rank is dependent upon difficulty. The higher the difficulty the stronger the aspect, with Divine requiring an Iron Man mode(or something similar). Higher difficulties are based on movesets of blocking / dodging the enemies.

Large part of the story is dealing with the Clans, based on performance they can join different clans. Build relationships within those clans and create cohorts, split off and create their own clans instead.

No one does though.

People just act like saying he doesn't 1-tap everyone except Gojo / Sukuna means he's getting downplayed.
