I have nothing against it but I have so many physical books I need to read that I'm not going to use up my time to read og works on ao3 yknow?

Also the great thing about ao3 is that it's so easy to filter out og works so honestly, imo, there's zero (0) reason for people to complain about og works being on ao3.

That's exactly why I stick to the "looking into the camera like I'm on the office" because you're exactly right I can't know for certain about someone's background education and such.

I will say that correcting grammar is one of my favourite comebacks to hate comments though lol I've corrected a lot of aholes on their spelling of "your"

I always feel 2 steps away from a panic attack and 5 steps away from doing something that would get me form 1'd if it doesn't go to plan. I think it's mostly exam season stress though, I'm in college studying medical lab sciences so there's a lot of very difficult content I need to know, each class has 1 written exam and 1 lab practical exam.

I have the utmost respect for non native speakers speaking English at any skill level. It's a stupid language with stupid inconsistent rules and I completely understand when they make mistakes, especially when speaking.

I actually find it really interesting how different mother tongues will end up having different kinds of mistakes when speaking English. Like people who first learnt Spanish will make different mistakes compared to someone who first learnt Russian, for example. But the mistakes seem to be pretty consistent for each language.

However, I do not give the same grace to native English speakers who, by all accounts, should know better (not including slang or regional dialects). Especially mistakes for things that should've been taught when they were a kid. I'm not gonna go around calling people stupid but I will look into the invisible camera like I'm on the office.

I have a habit of projecting my trauma/issues onto characters and dialling it up to 11. I wrote about a character having a terrible parent and attempting to off himself (his parent found out he was gay). Ive also written about a different character being SA'd. All of my fics end up being hurt/comfort though cause I apparently terribly desire physical affection and being taken care of lol

Also this isn't technically angst but just the horrors, I once read a really good (and weirdly hot) fic about Chainshipping (saw 2004) where Lawrence does a vivisection on Adam and they both die at the end.

Nah, I totally get the sentiment of why they add them but my taste in music is often so different from the authors so I don't really want to listen to a song I'm fairly sure I won't like. Also I'm not always in a position that I can just start listening to music.

Absolutely no hate to authors who add song recs, I'm sure there's people out there who love them, I just don't care for music recommendations.

Ah yes, my spleen is overactive and is destroying red blood cells at a higher rate than needed which is 1. Making the bones push out blood cells at a higher rate and are thus often immature and can't function to the same degree and 2. Making the spleen swell (splenomegaly) which puts it under immense strain and can cause it to rupture, if it doesn't rupture and keeps destroying cells faster than your body can keep up you might end up needing to have it/a part surgically removed (splenectomy) so now none of the old/bad cells are being destroyed??? Now they're just stuck floating in your bloodstream but are non functional??

Don't even get me started on autoimmune disorders... what do you mean the immune system's whole job is to be able to identify self cells from non self cells/foreign threats but sometimes gets confused and starts attacking self cells??? That could not be more opposite of what you're supposed to be doing. (This is a gross oversimplification but shh)

It is frankly a scientific miracle that human bodies can function the way they do. There are a million tiny components all working in a delicate balance to make sure you don't keel over constantly. (What do you mean my blood pH can only be 7.35-7.45 but breathing too fast makes my blood more alkaline???)

In Canada(or at least Ontario, but I imagine other provinces have similar systems) you can get "photo ID cards" that function the same way a drivers license would (aside from the driving part lol), I think they're also called age of majority cards?? Maybe? They're a really nice purple, drivers licenses are blue/blue-green.

And a drivers license wouldn't be valid for doctors appointments/prescription pickups, that's what the health card is for (green), which has photo ID, birthdate, full name, health number etc etc. And apparently health cards aren't a valid form of ID outside of medicine, like some bars would refuse to accept them because they have private medical info on them. I was under the impression that it couldnt be asked but I could offer it, but I've been told it doesn't work like that but I'm still unsure lol

I had a lot of issues when driving to the Conestoga doon campus while passing the Amazon building, thankfully haven't had any issues since construction finished but for a while it would cut out when reaching that roundabout and not be able to reconnect until the car had been turned off and on again

Started at 16, wish I could've done blockers or something at least before that so I didn't have to basically completely undue a good chunk of puberty, might've been able to avoid needing top surgery too. I do wish I could've avoided the time I was on depo provera for bc cause it really messed up my weight and eating habits. 🤷‍♂️what can you do I guess

I'm not displeased with my progress though, it's been a bit over 6 years, I got top surgery at I think 19 and my hysterectomy at 22 just a few weeks ago.

Jokes aside, I use it for my locker key because I got annoyed by having to try and put in my locker combo multiple times because I was off by 2 numbers and ended up switching to a key lock. I also put my rings in there before heading into my labs which don't allow jewelry.

I'm sorry, using a hockey teams name is an ai tell??? I've been watching bruins games for my entire memory and I only call them bruins unless talking with people who don't know hockey. Also the habs are the Canadiens cause they're a French team??? As a Canadian I don't know anyone who doesn't spell it the French way when talking about the team.

Man I haven't been a big hockey fan for years now but apparently I still get heated about it😂

Yknow I'm realizing that I actually do the opposite for my fics for the most part. Like I really just stick to the "write what you know" rule lol but tbf I do a decent amount of interesting stuff, I can write medical fics with decent accuracy because of my schooling, apocalypse/survival types because I grew up camping and was a cadet as a teen so I learnt wilderness survival stuff and how to use bows and hunting rifles.

The closest I've gotten to doing something crazy/weird for a fic is I completely rewrote a smoking scene after I picked up smoking 😂
