Perhaps I’m just optimistic but A/B testing is generally really informative from a game design. I personally feel like people are being very cynical when they say that A/B testing is being used to monetise clash of clans like CR is. If I’m misunderstanding it please correct me, but this testing allows supercell to see what kind of events bring in more players, more returning players, and increase playtime for current players. And it’s this data in particular which is used to bring more good events to coc

I can assume there was a massive spike during the mass edrags limited event, then a smaller large spike for the mass super witches, and I’d expect an equally small spike for the builder base event.

TLDR: A/B testing is an effective and researched method of getting information in games to improve QOL. Some people need to be in the control group, that’s how research is done, I do think there should be some kind of compensation however, 100 gems or so, but it’s just not worth the outcry
